SAN MARCOS, Texas — Southeast Missouri (6-10) faced a tough challenge on Sunday, falling to Texas State (7-4) with a 4-0 result.
In doubles action, Texas State claimed the point with wins on the first two courts. The Redhawks fell 6-1 at No. 1 doubles and 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.The No. 3 doubles match between
Juliette Demunck and
Kristina Kozakova against Tadiwa Mauchi and Chantajah Mills was left unfinished at 2-2.
Singles play saw Texas State extend their lead. The Bobcats won in straight sets at Nos. 1 and 3 singles. Kozakova was the lone Redhawk to take a set at No. 4 singles when she fought from behind after losing the first set 6-2 to win the second set 6-3 before falling 6-1 in the third set.
The remaining singles matches were not completed.
Maja Bajorek faced Ireland Simme at No. 2 singles, with Simme leading 6-4, 5-1.
Yontha Tadoum was ahead 2-0 against Olivia Collins at No. 5 singles, and
Saskia Soome held a 2-0 lead over Anastas Radovanovic at No. 6 singles.
