COLUMBIA, Mo. — Southeast Missouri Women's Tennis delivered a clean 7-0 sweep Sunday against the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The Redhawks claimed victory in all six singles contests and swept the doubles matches to secure the doubles point.
SEMO started strong, taking the doubles point with authority. At No. 2 doubles,
Juliette Demunck and
Kristina Kozakova made quick work of Aleksandra Lopez and Millie Wileman, winning 6-1. The No. 3 doubles team of
Yontha Tadoum and
Sofia Zemtsova mirrored that result with a 6-1 victory over Anna Favaron and Lauren Sweeney. At No. 1 doubles, Mia Mayerova and
Maja Bajorek edged out Hannah Tse and Morgan Lint, 6-4.
In singles play, SEMO maintained their momentum.
Maja Bajorek took a commanding win at No. 1 singles, overcoming Tse 6-1, 7-6(3). At No. 2 singles, Demunck dominated Lopez 6-0, 6-1. Zemtsova fought through a tough match at No. 3 singles, eventually defeating Wileman 6-1, 4-6, 6-3.
Tadoum displayed resilience in her No. 4 singles match, rallying to beat Lint 3-6, 6-4, 7-5. Kozakova cruised to victory at No. 5 singles, dispatching Favaron 6-0, 7-6(4). Mayerova wrapped up the day with a solid 6-4, 6-2 win over Giuliana Cunza at No. 6 singles, sealing the sweep for Southeast Missouri.

UMSL has a tough team that can grind a lot, they played hard today. Our girls fought hard and handled the stressful situations well.
The Redhawks will return to the court Saturday to face another SEC member University of Mississippi.
