COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Southeast Missouri tennis team battled well but fell to Missouri 6-1. SEMO grabbed a singles win at the No. 6 spot and claimed victory in the No. 3 doubles match.
Missouri secured the doubles point with victories in the No. 1 and No. 2 matches. SEMO's
Sofia Zemtsova and
Yontha Tadoum snagged a win at No. 3 doubles defeating Gian Octa and
Lara Quaglia 6-3.
Maja Bajorek and Mia Mayerova battled at the No. 2 spot in the lineup, even had match point, but ended up losing 7-6 in a tiebreak.
In singles play, Mayerova, had SEMO's lone win picking up a 6-3, 6-4 win against Quaglia at No. 6 singles and Bajorek faced a challenging match at No. 1 singles, falling to Brumfield 6-4, 6-4.
The Redhawks will return to the court Sunday as it faces Missouri-St. Louis at noon, back in Columbia.
