NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Southeast Missouri Soccer (0-2-0) dropped Sunday evening's contest to Belmont (1-1-0) by a final score of 1-0 from E.S. Rose Park.
The Redhawks best chance of the match came early in the second half from freshman
Zerina Markovic. SEMO built the play from the middle of the pitch in the 56
th minute, finding Markovic who made a beautiful inside cut and fired one of SEMO's two shots-on-goal in the second half.
SEMO was outshot by an 18-4 advantage, but goalkeeper
Madison Geisler had a stellar night in net, making eight saves against nine shots-on-goal from the Bruins in the contest.
The lone goal of the match was scored in the 49
th minute by Belmont's Kaitlyn Elliot who scored with a header to take a 1-0 lead.
Justi Nelson and
Cayla Koerner each registered a shot-on-target, but Belmont held on for the 1-0 victory on Sunday evening.

SEMO Soccer will be back in action on Thursday, August 21, when they take on Southern Illinois. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m., in Carbondale, Illinois.
