Soccer Wins Final Exhibition Match, Opens Regular Season Thursday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Southeast Missouri women's soccer team played its final exhibition match Monday hosting Kaskaskia College and won 7-0.
Maya Domian opened the scoring in the 29th minute off an assist from Jocelyn Alicia. The first half ended 1-0 but the Redhawks collected 24 shots with six on target.
It was a fast start in the second half as Grace Sabatka scored in the 47th minute with Alyssa Schulte and Maci Hatzenbuehler grabbing the assists. Domian scored her second of the match in the 51st minute and Saleena Banga added on in the 67th minute with a goal of her own. Three minutes later Riley Henderson scored her goal, and Rachel Kretzer added another goal in the 80th minute.
The Redhawks outshot Kaskaskia 57-0 with 20 shots on target for SEMO. Over the course of the game, SEMO had the ball for 73 percent of the game.
The Redhawks open its regular season Thursday when they welcome Southern Illinois to Houck Field at 6 p.m.
