CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Baseball (23-18) dropped Tuesday's midweek contest to Southern Illinois (28-12) by a final score of 12-6 from Capaha Field.
The Redhawks were outhit by a final tally of 18-10 led by outfielders
Cole Warehime and
Ty Stauss who finished with two hits apiece. Warehime finished with three RBIs.
SEMO jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the bottom of the first inning. A leadoff single from
Brooks Kettering put the first base runner of the game on first base. With one out,
Bryce Cannon roped his team-leading 16
thdouble of the season to score Kettering from first base to make it 1-0.
Stauss recorded his first-of-two hits two hitters later with an RBI single through the right side to score Cannon from second base and the Redhawks led 2-0 after the first frame.

Brian Strange held the Salukis in check for the first 3.0 innings as the Salukis failed to score over the game's first four innings.
The Redhawks would load the bases in the fourth inning beginning with Stauss' second single to center field. A one-out single by
Caleb Corbin and a walk from
Carson Schrack loaded the bases for the Redhawks.
A walk to catcher
Liam Forsyth drove in the third run of the game, making it 3-0 SEMO. For Forsyth, the RBI marked his sixth of the season.
SIU gained the lead in the top of the fifth inning with a five-run inning sparking a run of five-straight innings with at least a run to take the game by a final score of 12-6.

SEMO Baseball will return to Ohio Valley Conference play on the road this weekend at Morehead State. First pitch of game one is slated for Friday, April 25 at 5 p.m., CT. in Morehead, Ky.
