Redhawks Return to OVC Play Thursday Through Saturday, Hosts Lindenwood
Southeast Missouri Baseball (21-16, 8-4 OVC) will host in-state rival Lindenwood (17-19, 6-5 OVC) to continue Ohio Valley Conference play with a three-game set beginning on Thursday, April 17 and concluding on Saturday, April 19. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. on Thursday & Friday and ending with a 2 p.m. start on Saturday afternoon from Capaha Field.Â

Sawyers vs. Lindenwood
The Redhawks and Lions will meet for the seventh, eighth, and ninth time over the weekend in LU's third season as a member of the Ohio Valley Conference. Head coach
Andy Sawyers is 6-0 against the Lions dating back to the 2023 campaign. In both 2023 and 2024, SEMO has swept LU in Cape Girardeau and St. Charles, Mo., respectively.Â

Southeast Missouri Baseball most recently faced off with Murray State on Tuesday evening in Murray, Kentucky in a game that saw the Racers hold on for a 4-3 victory. The Redhawks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning with an RBI single from
Ty Stauss and an RBI sacrifice fly by
Caleb Corbin. MSU would respond with three runs in the bottom half before the Redhawks tied it in the sixth with Stauss' second RBI of the contest. An RBI double by MSU in the bottom of the eighth inning marked the go-ahead run as they held on for the 4-3 victory.Â

Fourth Series
The weekend series with Lindenwood marks the halfway point in the Ohio Valley Conference season and is the fourth series in league play for SEMO Baseball. The Redhawks enter the weekend in a tie for second place, one game behind league leading Tennessee Tech (9-3) at 8-4. SEMO is 5-1 this season in league games in Cape Girardeau.Â

Ty Stauss recorded a pair of RBIs in Tuesday's contest at Murray State. The Wildwood, Mo.-native recorded a multi-RBI game for the third time this season. He has 17 total RBIs this season which ranks him fifth on the team in that category. Over his career, Stauss has a total of 101 RBIs in a Redhawk uniform.Â

Bryce Cannon has started all 37 games at first base for the Redhawks this season entering the weekend. The Santa Rosa, California-native roped his team-leading 12
th double in Tuesday game at Murray State. In his two-year SEMO career, Cannon has 29 doubles in 340 at-bats. He leads the team in slugging-percentage with a .517 mark and is third on the team in on-base percentage (.413).Â

Matthew Lorenzano made his second start of the season on Tuesday evening. The right hander recorded a career-high three strikeouts against Murray State and had a career-long outing of 3.1 innings pitched.Â

Ethan Osborne pitched 1.0 innings on Tuesday night and was untouchable in his outing once again this season. Osborne allowed no hits for the sixth time this season and for the 19
