Baseball Travels to Jacksonville State, Series Altered Due to Weather
Southeast Missouri Baseball (10-7) will face former Ohio Valley Conference rival and current Conference USA-member Jacksonville State (11-6) in a three-game set beginning on Friday, March 14. Friday will feature a doubleheader beginning at 2:30 p.m., CT. The series will conclude on Sunday, March 16 with first pitch slated for 1 p.m. All three games will be played at Ruby Abbott Field at Jim Case Stadium in Jacksonville, Ala. 
 
Rain, Rain Go Away
The weekend series was originally slated for a three-game set over the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday weekend. Due to the potential threat of severe weather in the Jacksonville area, the series was altered to a doubleheader Friday followed by a single game on Sunday. 
 
Sawyers vs. JSU
In his ninth season, head coach 
Andy Sawyers holds a 7-7 overall record against the Gamecocks. The two programs have not met on the baseball diamond since the 2021 season with the Redhawks winning the last matchup, 8-3, in Cape Girardeau. Overall, the two teams hold a 30-30 record against one another dating back to 2004. 
 
Midweek Round Up 
The Redhawks extended their winning streak to four games with a pair of victories over Evansville and Saint Louis on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. SEMO throttled Evansville, 17-6, in seven innings at Capaha Field on Tuesday afternoon before traveling to Saint Louis picking up an 8-1 victory over the Billikens on Wednesday. The Redhawks scored 25 runs in two games as four Redhawks recorded their first home run(s) of the season. RHPs

Pennington on the Bump
RHP 
Mason Pennington made his first career start in a Redhawk uniform on Wednesday at Saint Louis. The Collinsville, Oklahoma-native pitched 4.2 innings and struck out a career-high four hitters in his third appearance of the season. Pennington surrendered just one run on three hits. 
 
Kick It
Caden Kickhaefer started on the mound for the first time on Tuesday afternoon pitching 3.2 innings against Evansville. Kickhaefer struck out a season-high six hitters, raising his total to 13 strikeouts on the season. In 7.2 innings, Kickhaefer has allowed just three runs to opponents.

Outfielder 
Michael Mugan has been all over the base paths this season. Through 17 games, Mugan is the has the most total bases (38), runs scored (18), and has the fifth highest on-base percentage (.429) on the squad. 
 
Bombs Away
Over the midweek, four Redhawks recorded their first home runs of the season.

Mikey Rocha, and 
Gunnar Doyle all left the yard. Corbin has two-straight games with a home run beginning against Evansville before blasting his second of the season against SLU. 
 
Pinch Hit, Two Out, Bombs
In two straight games, the Redhawks recorded a two-out, pinch hit home run beginning with 
Mikey Rocha on Tuesday night. Rocha blasted his first of the season to the left center field gap against Evansville. Doyle stepped to the plate in yesterday's sixth inning and blasted a three-run home run to right field to put the Redhawks up 8-1. 
 
Just Interesting
Catcher 
Liam Forsyth in his first season as a Redhawk has recorded three hits on the season. All three hits have resulted in extra base hits including two triples and a home run. He hit his first home run of the season in Tuesday's contest against Evansville. 
 
Holy Runs
SEMO Baseball is in the middle of a four-game winning streak. Over their four games, the Redhawks have scored 37 runs while allowing just 14 runs to their opponents. The Redhawks are hitting .386 over the four-game stretch with 46 hits, 10 doubles, two triples, and seven home runs. Their opponents are hitting just .206 against Redhawk pitching and have struck out 42 times.

Bryce Cannon recorded a triple against Evansville. For Cannon, the triple was the second of his career as he is tied for the second most triples on the team with one.

The Redhawks have three games this season with hitting two or more home runs including the two most recent games. SEMO has hit three home runs in a game against Purdue Ft. Wayne (2/28), Evansville (3/11), and Saint Louis (3/12). In those three games, the Redhawks are a perfect 3-0. 
 
Sixth in the Nation
Through 17 games, the Redhawks pitching staff has been one of the best in the nation at strikeout-to-walk ratio. Entering the week, SEMO was ranked seventh in the country in strikeout-to-walk ratio and after the midweek matchups have moved up to sixth. SEMO has a 4.12 K/BB ratio trailing three SEC, one BIG 12, and one American Conference program. UT-San Antonio ranks first in the country with a 4.59 K/BB ratio.
