MIAMI, Fla. - Southeast Missouri women's soccer (0-5) fell to Florida International University (5-3) Thursday night by a final score of 3-0.
Sophia Elfrink recorded three saves during the match and was the only Redhawk to play the full 90 minutes. Elfrink faced a total of 15 shots with seven of them being on target.
Justi Nelson had a shot on target during the first half of the match. The Panthers goalie would record her only save of the game off of Nelson's shot to the top right of the goal.Â
The Panthers would score their first goal in the first period making it 1-0. Noemi Paquin, FIU's leader in shots and sogs would put one into the bottom right of the net with her right foot off of a pass by Catherine Rapp in the 21st minute.
Rapp would then score FIU's second goal in the 50th minute during the second half of the contest. Camille Sahirul passed the ball to Elizabeth Rapp who would kick it to Rapp who put it into the bottom left of the net to put the Panthers up 2-0.
Paquin would then score her second goal of the match 17 minutes later during the 67th minute to score the Panthers final goal of the contest.
