Redhawks Host Indiana State in Final Home Non-Conference Match
Southeast Missouri women's soccer (0-2-0) plays host to Indiana State (3-1-0) on Sunday, September 1 at Houck Stadium before a three-game road stretch against Missouri (Sept. 8), Florida International (Sept. 12), and Florida Atlantic (Sept. 15). First kick is slated for 1:00 p.m., CT against the Sycamores.

SEMO fell 1-0 to Southern Illinois last Thursday evening, August 22, from Houck Field.
The Salukis edged the Redhawks in shots for the match with an 11-8 advantage led by Guliana Ballstreri (2). Two Redhawks registered multiple shots as freshman forward

The Redhawks and Salukis played to a 0-0 draw at halftime behind a save from goalkeeper
Sophia Elfrink. SIU outshot SEMO 7-4 in the first 45.
The Salukis got on the board midway through the second 45 as Sophia Schlicklin took a pass from Dana Cruz and scored past sophomore goalkeeper
Madison Geisler to give SIU a 1-0 advantage.
The goal proved to be the difference as the Redhawks could not find the equalizer to give SIU the 1-0 victory.
Series History
This will be the fourth all time meeting between the Redhawks and the Sycamores. SEMO currently has the upper hand in the series with a 2-0-1 record against Indiana State.
The last meeting between these two teams was in 2009 when the Redhawks won 1-0 at home.
The first contest dates all the way back to Aug. 30, 2002. The Redhawks defeated the Sycamores 2-0 in Cape Girardeau. The two teams then played again the following year in Terre Haute, Ind. where they tied 0-0 in double overtime.
Scouting Indiana State
The Sycamores come to Houck Field coming off their first loss of the season. ISU lost on Thursday night agianst fellow OVC-member UT martin, falling 2-1.
Against UT Martin, Senior Mackenzie Kent scored the lone goal of the contest for the Sycamores. Kent ended her night with one goal and two shots, with both of those being shots on goal.
Wimberly Wright recorded an assist on the one goal the Sycamores scored. Wright now has five assists on the season and Indiana State has 14 assists on the year.
Forward Audrey Stephens and midfielder Chole Tesny paced the Sycamores with three shots a piece. Indiana State fired off 15 shots against the Skyhawks with nine of them being on goal.
Indiana State's goalie Maddie Alexander had 11 saves but allowed two goals. Alexander has faced 47 shots this year and recorded 22 saves on the season (0.917 save percentage).
Alexa Mackey has three goals on the year which leads the team this season. To go along with her three goals Mackey has six shots with every one of those shots on target.
The Sycamores have a total of 17 goals this season with five athletes recording four or more shots on goal this year.
As a team, the Sycamores have 83 shots (20.3 shots per game) compared to their opponents 47. They have also registered 49 shots on goal compared to their opponents 25. Indiana State is averaging 20.3 shots per game and has a 59% shots on goal percentage.
