LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Southeast track & field continued their hot start to the 2024 indoor season posting eight first place finishes, 17 new personal bests and chalking up 51 top ten finishes.
Grabbing The Gold
The Senior from Rochester, Ill,
Clay Alewelt was second to none in the shot put after throwing for a mark of 54' 6.50". Alwelt also notched sixth in the weight throw (58' 2.5")
Sophomore
Bailee Hux threw the shot put for a distance of 42' 6.75" to place first.
Senior Luke Hatfield Jackson jumped for a distance of 22' 10" to claim the top spot in the women's long jump.
The Minnesota native
Parker Feuerborn grabbed the gold in the weight throw, throwing for a mark of 69' 5.5".
Luke Busateri claimed the top spot in the men's triple jump with a mark of 46' 5.25"
Freshman
Charlie Ham notched first in the women's pole vault. The Montana native achieved a new PR with a vault of 11' 0.75".
The men's 4 x 400 team of
Brenden Parham, Mark Crawford,
Terrico Garrett, and
Justin Splitt finished first with a time of 3:18.77.
The women's 4 x 400 team of
Breanna Miles,
Laila Hardin,
Leanza Dwaah, and
Sydney Burdine took first (3:52.17).
New Personal Records
Freshman
Trystan Wright notched a new personal best and an eighth place finish (8.69) in the 60-meter hurdles.
Colin Beers vaulted over a height of 15' 7.75 for a new PR and the silver medal.
The freshman running pair;
Ryan Seabaugh (4:26.18) and
Myles Thornburg both (4:31.20) claimed new personal best in the men's mile.
Brianna Payton runs the women's mile in 5:16.24 for a new personal record.
Burdine and Hardin both achieved new PR's in the women's 400 after they crossed the line at 56.68 (2nd) and 57.91 (6th).
Seabaugh finished with another new personal best in the 800, crossing the line at 1:59.54.
Layla Fliege crosses the line in the 800 at 2:23.35 for ninth and a new PR
Garret and
Cade McCadams set new personal bests with times of 8:43.81 and 8:54.13.
In the women's pole vault Natalie Minor cleared a height of 10' 0.75" for a new personal record.
Molly Grohmann took fourth in the pole vault achieving a new PR (5' 7").
Hannah Eastman achieved a new PR, crossing the line at  9:53.30 for fourth,
Brooklyn Bender finished notched a time of 10:32.54,
Kayla Vogelsang 10:50.80,
Alayna Sparr 11:00.49.
Top Five Placers
In the women's 60m hurdles
Brianna Dixion claimed second place (8.97) and
Clara Billing took third (8.98). Dixion also placed fifth in the high jump (5' 7").
Miles wears the bronze medal after the 60m race (7.74). The Senior also claimed fifth in the 400m race (57.64).Â
Freshman
Marcus Gordon Jr. led the redhawks in the men's 60m hurdle race crossing the line at 8.543 for fifth.
In the men's shot put
Quinton Maxwell took fourth, throwing for a distance of 47' 9.25".
Todjai Ross notched third, and
Serena Williams placed fourth jumping at distances of 17' 11" and 17' 9.75" in the long jump.
Sophomore Tanner Knootz finished in third in the men's pole vault, getting to a height of 15' 1.75".
Alivia Busch notched a throw of 42' 4" in the women's shot put for second place.
Aarion Jackson posted a fourth place finish in the long jump (21' 1.5").
In the women's 800-meter
Erika Mellor brings home the silver medal, with a finishing time of 2:16.62.
In the men's 1000 Garrett ran for the second best time (2:27.57) and Splitt ran the fifth best time (2:33.15).
Marshall Swadley took third in the weight throw, after he achieved a mark of 62' 5.25".
Williams places fourth in the triple Jump, recording a mark of 38' 6".
Ciara Potter and Ross jumped for distances of 36' 1.25" and 35' 9.5" for seventh and eighth.
After the women's 1000-meter finished
Taylor Fox was wearing bronze, crossing the finish line at 2:48.16.
Mason Clough chalked up the jump of 6' 4.75" for second in the men's high jump.
Second place in the triple jump was awarded to Luke Hatfield Jackson (46' 2.5").
Dwaah grabs the bronze in the women's 200-meter, crossing the line at  25.24.
Mackenzie Williams threw for second (57' 7.75") and Hux (56' 4.75") notched fourth and
Piper Klinger posted fifth (55' 8.25") in the weight throw.
Top Ten Performances
Megan Aubuchon (9.25) and
Kaitlyn McGinnitey (9.30) took ninth and tenth in the women's 60-meter hurdle race.
Burdine and Dwaah notched times of 7.97 (7th) and 7.98 (8th) in the 60m.
Shea Degraaf posted a sixth place finish (8.550) in the hurdle race.
Parham notches 10th place in the men's 400, with a time of 51.16.
Payton tallied a sixth place finish at 2:20.80 in the 800-meter.
In the women's 1000m
Madelyn Gray recorded a time of 2:56.77 for sixth.
Noah Little records a new PR in the men's 3000-meter placing eighth place (8:29.31).
Anna thomason and McGinnitey both jumped over a 4' 11" height for tenth.
Busch posted a sixth place finish in the women's weight throw (54' 8.75").

Track and field will take on the Illini challenge next Friday and Saturday at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, Ill.
