BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Southeast Missouri women's track & field picked up a trio of awards as
Madelyn Gray,
Makenzie Williams, and
Clara Billing each took home weekly honors, the Ohio Valley Conference announced Wednesday.
Madelyn Gray was selected as the Female Track Athlete of the Week for her efforts at the 2023 Joey Haines Invite. Gray won the women's 800-meter dash with a 2:12.59 finish.
She was also a part of the 4x400-meter relay team that placed second with a time of 3:56.79.
Makenzie Williams picked up Co-Female Field Athlete of the Week for her finish the women's hammer throw and discus.
Williams placed fourth in the hammer throw with a 58' 02" throw. She picked up a bronze medal in the discus with a throw of 46.19m.
Clara Billing picked up Freshman Female of the Week honors placing first out of 24 competitors in the women's 100-meter hurdles.
Billing flew down the track and finished the heat in 14.68 for the gold medal.
She also picked up a first-place finish in the women's pole vault clearing a height of 3.80m to claim the top spot.
Track & Field will be back in action at the Joe Walker Invite on Friday April 7 and Saturday April 8 in Oxford, Miss.
