BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Redhawks concluded day two of the Indiana Relays with five top -five finishes and several top-ten finishes.
Serena Williams led the Redhawks with the highest finish of the day. She took third place in the triple jump with a jump of 37-3.25 (11.36m).
In the women's mile,
Taylor Fox the Junior from Mt. Zion, Illinois picked up an eighth-place finish. Fox crossed the finish line at 4:57.00.
In the men's triple jump three Redhawks competed with
Luke Busateri leading the way for SEMO.
Busateri finished with a jump of 46-3.25 (14.10m) and took home a third-place finish
Terrico Garrett picked up a 10th place finish in the men's 800-meter with a time of 1:51.67.
In the women's pole vault
Clara Billing took fourth and
Skylar Prescott took seventh.
Billing finished with a vault of 12-4.75 (3.78m) and Prescott got to a height of 11-5 (3.48m).
Marshall Swadley and
Clay Alewelt finished 10th and 12th in the men's shot put. Swadley threw for 53-11.75 (16.45m) and Alewelt 51-5.75 (15.69m).
In the women's 4x400-meter relay, the Redhawks had two teams compete.
Breanna Miles,
Erika Mellor,
Brianna Payton, and
Laila Hardin ran a time of 3:55.57 for a fourth-place finish.
Kendall Holweg,
Kaitlyn McGinnitey,
Tayler Gudde, and
Anna Thomason crossed the line in 10th place with a time of 4:05.11.
Michael Weaver, Mark Crawford,
Brenden Parham, and
Terrico Garrett were the lone Redhawk team to compete in the Men's 4x400-meter relay.
The team finished the relay in 3:19.75 and in fifth place.
Looking Ahead
The Redhawks will be traveling to Louisville, Kentucky next week to compete in the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic. The event will be held next Friday, February 3, at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.
