Track & Field Head to Indiana Relays Friday & Saturday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri track & field will head to Bloomington, Indiana on Friday & Saturday, Jan. 27-28, to compete in the Indiana Relays. This will be the fourth event of the season and will be held at Gladstein Fieldhouse at Indiana University.
The meet will kick off on Friday, January 27th, at 5:00 p.m starting with the women's weight throw, followed by multiple other field events.
The track events will also begin at 5:00 p.m. starting with the women's preliminary 60-meter hurdles.
The last event on Friday is scheduled to start at 8:40 p.m with the women's 200-meter followed by the men's 200-meter race.
The meet will resume Saturday with the women's triple jump starting around 10:45 a.m simultaneously with the 60-meter hurdle finals starting on the track side.
The meet will conclude with the 4x400-meter relay with start time set for 2:15 p.m for the women's race.
Last Time Out
The Southeast Missouri State Track and Field team had a very successful weekend at the John Gartland Invitational, with 10 different Redhawks achieving career best.
Luke Hatfield Jackson the Arnold, Missouri-native claimed the top spot on the podium breaking the Indiana state facility record and the school record in the high jump with a 7-00.50 (2.15m$) mark.
In the men's weight throw, SEMO swept the top two spots. Parker Feuerborn broke the school record, meet record and the facility record with a throw that went for 21.86m.
Dylan Clark took the number two spot on the podium with a 66-01.75 (20.16m).
In the Women's 60-meter dash the Redhawks had four athletes compete and two that qualified for the finals, that being Serena Williams and Sandrea Cogio.
Serena Williams set a new PR in the preliminaries and in the finals as she beat her preliminary time (7.85) setting a new personal best for a time of 7.82.
Brenden Parham, Xzavier Bartlett, and Connor Moore all set new personal-bests in the Men's 400-meters. Parham with 51.37, Bartlett with 52:08, and Moore with a time of 52.74.
The top two spots in the women's 1 mile were occupied by Katie Wegmann and Hannah Eastman.
Wegmann finished with a time of 4:58.70 to earn a PR. While Eastman finished in 5:01.51.
Sophomore Laila Hardin set a new personal record with a time of 1:39.50 in the women's 600-meters earning a second place finish.
Clara Billing took home the gold in the women's pole vault with a 12-11.75 (3.96m) vault.
For the Women's 800 meter Madalyn Gray the Sophomore from St. Peters, Mo. took home the gold with a time of 2:17.13.
Taylor Fox led the charge in the women's 3000. The junior found herself at the top of the podium when she crossed the line at 9:58.28. With this time she achieved a new personal best.
In the men's 3000-meters Noah Little also broke his PR when he finished in third with a time of 8:32.57.
The women had four compete in the 5000-meter race and all placed in the top five. Lexie Dockstader and Mackenzie Pugh finished first and second with times of 18:39.19 and 18:50.00.
Isaac Readnour won the Heptathlon with 4,594 total points. He secured first place victories in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.23, the long jump (6.87m), the 60-meter hurdles (9.40), and in the pole vault 13-05.25 (4.10m).
The Redhawks had three athletes compete in the Men's 800-meter. Terrico Garret, Justin Splitt, and Louis Primeau.
Terrico Garret finished with a time of 1:54.52 taking home the first place finish
The Redhawks had one team competing in the Distance Medley and they took the top spot. The team consisted of Hannah Eastman, Madalyn Gray, Katie Wegmann, and Alayna Sparr. The team finished at the 13:33.64 mark.
Seth Gleason won the men's 5000-meter run with a 15:13.58 finishing time.

Luke Hatfield Jackson is ranked eighth in the NCAA and first in the conference for the high jump. Jackson jumped 7' 0.5" (2.15m) at the John Gartland Invitational Jan. 20.
Jackson is also ranked 17th in the nation and first in the conference for his 25' 0.75" (7.64m) long jump at the 2023 Redhawks Invite Jan. 14.
Parker Feuerborn is ranked 12th in the nation and first in the OVC in weight throw. The senior achieved a 71' 8.75" (21.86m) mark at the John Gartland Invitational Jan. 20.

Justin Splitt is also ranked fourth in the conference for the 800-meter (1:55.73).
Madalyn Gray is ranked first in the conference for the women's 800-meter (2:15.57) while teammate Erika Mellor is ranked fifth (2:20.69).
Katie Wegmann is ranked first in the mile (4:55.78) and third in the 3000-meter (10:00.56) in the OVC.
Hannah Eastman is ranked second in the conference in the mile (4:58.56) and fourth in the 3000-meter (10:00.86).
Taylor Fox is ranked first in the OVC in the 3000-meter (9:53.20).
Seth Gleason has the fourth best time in the conference for the 5000-meter (15:03.90).
Lexie Dockstader has the third best time in the conference for the women's 5000-meter (18:30.69).
Freshman Clara Billing is ranked third in the OVC for the 60-meter hurdles (9.05) and first for pole vault (12' 11.75", 3.96m).
In the 4x400 the team of Micheal Weaver, Markeith Crawford, Terrico Garrett, Brock Wood are ranked third in the OVC (3:19.23).
Serena Williams is ranked second in the conference for the high jump (5' 5", 1.65m), fourth for the long jump (17' 11.75", 5.48m), and third in the triple jump (38' 4.75", 11.70m).
Sophie Dubis and Anna Thomason are ranked fifth in the OVC for high jump as well (5' 3")
For the men's pole vault Colin Beers is 1st (15' 5.75", 4.72m), Sullivan Gleason second (15' 0", 4.57m), Tanner Koontz fourth (14' 4.5", 4.38m), and Shea Degraaf fifth (13' 10", 4.22m).
Todjai Ross is also ranked fourth for the long jump in the OVC (17' 11.75", 5.48m).
In the men's shot put Marshall Swadley is third in the OVC (54' 2", 16.51m), Dylan Clark fourth (53' 8.5", 16.37m), and Clay Alewelt is ranked fifth (53' 0.75", 16.17m).
In the women's shot put Megan Deimeke is ranked third in the OVC (43' 2.5", 13.17m) and first in weight throw (57' 2.25", 17.43m)
Piper Klinger is ranked fifth in shot put (41' 7", 12.67m) and 2nd in weight throw (57' 2", 17.42m).
Kaitlyn McGinnitey has the second best time in the conference for the Pentathlon with 3208 total points.
Isaac Readnour has the third best time in the OVC for the Heptathlon with 4618 total points.
Looking Ahead
After the Redhawks compete at the Indiana Relays they will be back on the road again to compete in the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic in Louisville, Ky. The competition will take place Friday, February, 3rd.
