The Redhawks and Rebels last met at the 2021 NCAA Regional in Oxford, Mississippi. Ole Miss won that game, 6-3, on June 4. SEMO's only two wins of the all-time series came in Oxford on Feb. 23, 1999 (6-4) and Feb. 18, 2001 (5-2).
Power Five Opponent
Ole Miss is the first opponent from a Power Five conference that Southeast Missouri faces this season. SEMO will also visit SEC member Missouri (May 3) and Big 12 Conference foe Oklahoma State (May 6-8) next month. The Redhawks are 3-13 vs. Power Five teams under Head Coach Andy Sawyers. SEMO's last win over a Power Five school was at Big Ten Conference member Purdue (3-2) on Apr. 27, 2019.
24 Wins
Southeast Missouri is tied for first in the Ohio Valley Conference with 24 wins this season. SEMO is one of four teams in the league with 20 or more victories. Easter Weekend Recap
The Redhawks dropped two of three games at Tennessee Tech (Apr. 14-16) during Easter weekend. Southeast Missouri's lone win was a 9-4 victory in game two. First Home Loss
The Redhawks saw a program record 17-game home winning streak end with its first loss at Capaha Field Tuesday. Southeast Missouri dropped a tight 3-2 contest to longtime rival Southern Illinois in the 91st meeting between the teams. It was the first time SEMO fell at home since May 21, 2021 (9-2, vs. UT Martin). The 17-game stretch was the second-longest home winning streak in the nation.
That Was Fast
With its win over Arkansas State on Apr. 5, Southeast Missouri reached 20 wins in a season quicker than it has ever done under Head Coach Andy Sawyers. The Redhawks 20th win came 25 days sooner than it did a year ago (Apr. 30, 2021). SEMO is one of 37 NCAA Division I teams with 24 or more victories this year.Â
Third in the OVC
The Redhawks (8-4) are third in the Ohio Valley Conference standings behind Eastern Illinois (7-2) and Belmont (9-3). Southeast Missouri's eight league victories are second-most in the OVC.
A Look Ahead
After Tuesday's trip to Ole Miss, Southeast Missouri returns home to host Morehead State in a three-game series on Apr. 22-24. The Redhawks will then hit the road for 11 of their final 15 games of the regular-season.
Great at Home

One more win will match the most home victories in a season by a Sawyers coached team (18 in both 2017 and 2018).
Record Home Winning Streak
The Redhawks 17-game home winning streak marked the longest in program history. Southeast Missouri went undefeated through its first 17 home games of a season for the first time ever. Prior to this year, SEMO began the 2000 campaign at 13-0 at home. The Redhawks have the most home victories in the Ohio Valley Conference. That winning streak was second only to #1 Tennessee (29 games). Tennessee Tech upended the Volunteers in midweek action on Apr. 12, but that game was played at a neutral site in Tennessee.Â
