Series History
Southeast Missouri meets Arkansas State on the front end of a home-and-home series this season. SEMO and ASU are also scheduled to play in Cape Girardeau on Apr. 5. Tuesday marks the 73rd meeting between the teams. The Redhawks ended a three-game losing streak in their series against the Red Wolves with a 5-3 win on Mar. 3, 2020 (Jonesboro), the last time these teams faced each other.

Best Start in Division I Era
At 9-1, the Redhawks are off to their best start in their NCAA Division I era. Southeast Missouri moved to the D-I ranks in 1992. Overall, the start is SEMO's best since 1983 when that team put together a 10-1 record. The 13-0 start by the 1973 team is the best in program history.

Top-50 RPI
Southeast Missouri currently ranks among the Top-50 in RPI this season. SEMO is currently 49th as the highest ranked Ohio Valley Conference team in that category. The RPI ranking is the highest in six years under Head Coach Andy Sawyers. Prior to 2022, SEMO rated 87th in RPI during the 2021 campaign. The Redhawks other RPI rankings with Sawyers at the helm include 136th (2017), 200th (2018), 259th (2019) and 200th (2020).

Seven in a Row
The Redhawks are on a seven-game winning streak as one of three Ohio Valley Conference teams which have won a minimum of five-straight contests. Tennessee Tech (10-0) leads the league with a 10-game winning streak as the OVC's only undefeated team remaining. If Southeast Missouri wins Tuesday, it will become the third OVC team to get 10 wins this year along with Tennessee Tech and Belmont (10-3). One more win will also give SEMO its longest winning streak since it won 11 in a row during the 2016 season.

Get Out the Brooms!
Southeast Missouri posted its second series sweep of the season when it beat Missouri Valley Conference affiliate Bradley (Mar. 4-5). SEMO also won three games in its first-ever meeting with Atlantic Sun member Bellarmine (Feb. 26-27). The series sweep against Bellarmine was the Redhawks first since they won four games against Ohio on Feb. 28-Mar. 1, 2020.

11-Straight Series Wins
The Redhawks claimed their 11th-straight series win dating back to the start of April 2021 when they swept Bradley, 16-7, 11-8, 12-5, on Mar. 4-5 in Cape Girardeau. Southeast Missouri has not lost a series since Mar. 26-27, 2021 (at Eastern Illinois).

Offensive Outburst
Southeast Missouri scored 77 runs in its last six games and outscored its opponents by a +42 margin (77-35) in that stretch. SEMO is already over 100 hits (107) and 100 (103) runs this year. The Redhawks had 73 hits and 42 runs through their first 10 games in 2021.

Seeing Double
The Redhawks scored double-digit runs in each of their last six games. It is the first time in six years where Southeast Missouri scored 10 or more times in at least five consecutive games. SEMO finished with double figures in the run column a total of six times in 52 games last season. The Redhawks are second in the Ohio Valley Conference with 103 runs scored behind both Tennessee Tech (109) and Murray State (109).

Southeast Missouri hit 20 home runs this season, 14 more than it did throught its first 10 games of 2021. SEMO hit nine home runs in its series against Bradley (Mar. 4-5), including a season-high nine during game three. The Redhawks became the third team to 20 home runs in the Ohio Valley Conference thus far, joining SIU Edwardsville (22) and Tennessee Tech (21). Tyler Wilber leads SEMO with four round-trippers, while Andrew Keck, Jevon Mason and newcomer Joel Vaske follow close behind with three apiece. Eight different Redhawks have homered in 2022. The Redhawks are 12th in the nation in home runs and seventh in home runs per game (2.0).
