CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Left-handed hitting shortstop Brooks Kettering signed with the Southeast Missouri baseball program Thursday.
A native of Springfield, Missouri, Kettering attends Glendale High School. Last season, he earned Class 5 First-Team All-State honors and was a unanimous First-Team All-Ozark Conference infielder. Kettering also secured First-Team All-Class 5 District 6 accolades.
"Brooks is an athletic middle infielder with plus bat to ball skills and some present power from the left side of the plate," said SEMO Head Coach
Andy Sawyers. "He is skilled enough to stay in the middle and has a chance to be a middle of the order bat with added strength."
Kettering hit .378 with nine doubles, five triples, one home run, 20 RBI, 40 runs scored and 18 stolen bases as a junior. He boasted a .512 on-base percentage as well. Kettering also pitched where he compiled a 3-1 record and 2.18 ERA with three saves and 26 strikeouts in 25.2 innings.
He will join the Redhawks next fall.
