NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Rachel Hutchcraft finished second in the women's 5,000 meters as Southeast Missouri Track and Field continued its outdoor season at the Vanderbilt Black & Gold Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Vanderbilt Track and Field Complex.
Hutchcraft was the runner-up in the 5,000 meters, clocking in at a career best 17:28.83.
Stephen Zagurski was third in the men's hammer throw with a distance of 196-11 (60.02m) in his third attempt and
Logan Blomquist placed third in discus with 50.03m.
Blomquist also placed fifth in the hammer throw with a feat of 191-8 (58.41m).
Dylan Clark posted a mark of 144-1 (43.91m, 15th).
McKenna Baker posted a hammer throw toss of 144-8 (44.9m, 15th) and
Nicole Humphreys had a mark of 143-9 (43.81m, 16th). Baker also had a shot put distance of 42-10.25 (13.06m, 10th). Humphreys added a toss of 41- 6 (12.65m, 13th).
Blomquist was then fifth in the shot put, registering a throw of 53-8.25 (16.36m). Zagurski was sixth in 52-2.5 (15.91m).
Humphreys tallied a discus throw of 40.97m (11th) in her second attempt. On the men's side, Clark was eighth (44.83m) and Zagurski finished ninth (44.70m).
Colin Schwab finished the 200 meters in 22.00 (20th) which was second in the fourth heat.
In the 1500 meters,
Colin Jones crossed the finish line in 4:10.50 (40th) and
Keaton Jones had a time of 4:11.36 (42nd). On the women's side,
Carli Knott led the Redhawks with a mark of 4:33.38 (16th).
Danielle Mohrmann finished in 4:47.64 (42nd).
Dan Plunkett took ninth in the 5,000 meters with a personal best time of 15:14.67.
Nick South overcame a height of 15-1 (4.60m) to place eighth in the pole vault. On the women's side,
Sierra Maddox propelled herself over 3.40m (10th).
Aliyah Sangster finished the 200 meters in 25.17 (29th).
Lauryn James had a time of 25.83 (41st) and
Kaylee Eakin finished in 27.89 (75th).
Natalie Kopplin completed the 5,000 meters in 18:55.40 (16th).
Leslie Brooks recorded a triple jump mark of 37-1.25 (11.31m, 11th) in the third round.
Griffin Bailey finished the 2,000 meter steeplechase in 6:11.37 (11th) and
Curtis Reed had a time of 6:21.03 (15th).
Kaitlyn Shea was seventh in the women's 2,000 meter steeplechase with a mark of 7:12.14.
Anna Thomas had a time of 7:24.40 (13th) and
Maddie Keller was 14th in 7:30.69.
South concluded the 110 meter hurdles in 15.75 (21st). Carter placed 16th
in the women's 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.88 in the fourth heat.
Schwab placed sixth in the 400 meters in 48.83 and
Brandon Chunn was 11th (49.22).
Kaylon Jenkins finished in 50.24 (15th). Sangster had a time of 57.32 (12th) in the women's race.
Lauryn James sprinted to a time of 12.51 (24th) in the women's 100 meters. Eakin finished the dash in 13.66 (52nd).
Knott then was the eighth finisher in the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:13.43.
Claire Morrill completed the race in 2:16.57 (17th). On the men's side,
Keaton Jones led the Redhawks with a time of 1:55.54 (18th) in the 800 meters.
Colin Jones had a mark of 1:56.06 for 20th.
Kendall Long placed sixth overall in the women's 400 meter hurdles, achieving a time of 1:02.74 in the first finals section.
Leslie Brooks clocked in at 1:06.11 (12th).
Bryce Pease then registered a time of 59.38 (19th) in the men's race.
Mohrmann paced SEMO's women in the 3000 meters, finishing in 10:17.93 (30th). Hutchcraft finished in 10:18.98 (32nd).
Dan Plunkett placed 17th in the men's race with a mark of 8:57.81 followed by
Chris Durr (9:06.10, 20th).
Madison Goss placed fifth in the javelin with a throw of 39.74m and
Kaylee Johnston finished eighth in 38.67m.
Andrew Ryan led the Southeast men in javelin with a mark of 49.38m for sixth.
Titouan Sajous was seventh (49.12m) and Blomquist was eighth (48.79m).
Ellie Gamradt then tied for seventh in the women's high jump, overcoming 1.61m. Sajous had a height of 1.95m for sixth in the men's competition.
In the long jump, James registered a feat of 5.21m (20th).
The women's 4x400 meter relay team of Sangster, Long, James and Morrill finished fifth in 3:56.86. The men's team of Pease, Chunn,
Keaton Jones and Schwab were clocked at 3:19.34 for seventh. The B 4x400 meter men's squad of
Colin Jones,
James Kosbar,
David Plunkett and
Austin Perkins finished in 3:26.41 (11th).
Southeast track and field team next hosts the Drury Hotels Joey Haines Invitational March 29-30 at the Abe Stuber Track & Field Complex in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Friday's first day of the meet has the hammer throw at 3:30 p.m.
