BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Junior Logan Blomquist was named the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Male Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
 
Blomquist, a Pleasant Hill, Missouri native, won the weight throw this past weekend at the Fred Wilt Open held at Purdue with a career-best toss of 62-9.5 (19.14m). With the mark, he now ranks second in the conference for the event.
 
Blomquist was also sixth in the shot put, recording a distance of 51-11.75 (15.84m). 
 
The honor marks the third career weekly conference accolade for Blomquist who was also tabbed OVC Outdoor Track & Field Male Freshman of the Year in 2017. 
 
The Southeast track & field team next competes in the state of Indiana for the third-straight weekend Friday at the Hoosier Hills Invite held at the University of Indiana in Bloomington, Indiana. SEMO then hosts the Redhawks Open Friday, Feb. 15 at the SEMO Rec Center before heading to Birmingham, Alabama, Feb. 20-21 for the 2019 OVC Indoor Track & Field Championship at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
