DENTON, Texas – Alexis Brawner and
McKinzie Jones represented Southeast Missouri women's gymnastics Sunday at the 2018 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships individual event finals at the Kitty Magee Arena on the campus of Texas Woman's University.
Brawner totaled a 9.7875 on vault, which tied for sixth on the apparatus.
Jones then registered a beam routine of 9.8000 and tied for third on the event.
Brawner (vault) and Jones (beam) were also named First Team USA Gymnastics All-Americans after posting top five finishes in their semifinals session on Friday.
Brawner also earned second team laurels on bars and floor and
McKenna Stanley was awarded second team honors on bars.
On Thursday at the USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championship Awards Banquet, Brawner, Jones, Stanley and
Megan Dennis were named USAG All-America Scholar-Athletes.
Brawner, Jones and Stanley were also recognized for their careers as senior athletes.
Texas Woman's Schyler Jones won the national championship on vault with a 9.9125. She also tied for first on beam with her Pioneers' teammate, Alyssa Kelly, with scores of 9.8250. Jessica Wang of Yale was crowned the bars champion with a 9.9000. Schyler Jones won her third event title on Sunday on floor when she tied with Air Force's Tyler Davis and Maya Reimers of Bridgeport with scores of 9.9000.
