Gymhawks Set for 2026 WCGNIC Championships Friday Through SundayÂ
Southeast Missouri Gymnastics will begin its quest for the 2026 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championship beginning with Friday's semifinal round, to Saturday's Team Finals, and concluding with Sunday's Individual Event Finals. The competition will begin on Friday at 1 p.m., CT. followed by 6 p.m., CT. on Saturday, and an 12 p.m., CT. start on Sunday from West Chester University's Hollinger Field House in West Chester, Pa.Â

How it Works
The semifinal round is split amongst the six teams challenging for the top spot. The Gymhawks will enter the competition in session I where they will compete with Bridgeport and Alaska
-Anchorage on Friday afternoon. In session II, fellow MIC-member Texas Woman's features with West Chester and Southern Connecticut State Friday night. The top two finishers from each session will move on to Saturday's National Championship meet.Â

Individual Finals
Sunday's meet will allow gymnasts from each team to compete for the top spot on specific apparatuses. The top gymnasts from the semifinal and final round(s) will challenge one another on Sunday for an individual title.Â

Championship Swagger
Southeast Missouri Gymnastics captured the 2026 Midwest Independent Conference Championship last Friday night with a 194.950 at CEFCU Arena, marking the program's fifth MIC title in the 50th season of the program. SEMO Gymnastics secured the title for the first time in 11 years with the last conference title coming in 2014.Â

Taylor Ingle, competing in her 27th-straight all-around competition, saved her best for last as she turned in a season-high 39.275 in the all-around headlined by an impressive season-high 9.875 on vault. Ingle also captured the overall event title on the vault with her final score. She scored a 9.800 on all of the other three events in bars, beam, and floor to capture the 2026 MIC all-around title.Â

The Gymhawks tied their season-high on the vault with a 48.950 in the fourth and final rotation of the evening and narrowly missed a season best on the floor (48.950) with a 48.850 in rotation three.Â

Eighth year Head Coach
Ashley Lawson captured her first MIC Championship title in her career on Friday night after being named 'MIC Coach of the Year' the night before.Â

Season-High
The Gymhawks turned in their highest team score of the season in the championship meet with a 194.950. SEMO surpassed its previous season best of a 194.850 on February 6 by a full .100 at the MIC Championships.Â

MIC Co-Athlete of the Year
Taylor Ingle was named the 2026 Midwest Independent Conference Co-Athlete of the Year prior to the championship meet last week. Ingle competed in her 27
th-straight all-around competition as she turned in a season-high 39.250 and captured the all-around title. Ingle has seven meets this season of 39.000 or higher and scored a 9.875 on the vault marking her highest score this season on the apparatus. She has captured the award in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history.Â

Where We Rank
SEMO Gymnastics enters the 2026 WCGNIC event ranked 49
th in the country, moving up one spot from last week. The Gymhawks are the third highest ranked team of the WCGNIC teams, and second at the actual event. The Gymhawks have a NQS score of 194.065 trailing only Texas Woman's with a 194.920 NQS. Bridgeport follows close behind with a 192.603 NQS followed by Alaska (191.050) to round out session I.Â

SEMO Gymnastics finished the 2026 regular season ranked the second highest in the program's history under head coach
Ashley Lawson. In her eighth season, Coach Lawson led the Gymhawks to a 49
th ranking nationally this season which follows just behind the 2021 squad who won the 2021 USAG National Championship and finished 47
th overall.Â

With a win in the finals, SEMO Gymnastics would capture its second national championship as a team and the second under Coach Lawson. The Gymhawks last won the event during the 2021 season where they won the event with a 195.025 team score.Â

Senior
Kailyn Hamilton excelled in her final MIC Championship last Friday night on the vault. Hamilton, a native of Springfield, Mo., turned in an impressive 9.800 from the leadoff spot in the vault lineup surpassing her previous high of 9.750 set twice this season.Â

Phil's Floor
Anna Lee Phillips tied her season-high on the floor last Friday night. The Allen, Texas-native scored a 9.800 for the second time this season and the first since February 1. She has three scores this season of 9.775 or higher.Â

Strong Showing
Junior
Jaidan Kossuth continued her strong three week stretch on the beam with a 9.825 at the MIC Championship meet. Kossuth has scored 9.775 or higher in three-straight beam routines including a 9.850 on March 13 in her home state of Arizona. Kossuth has seven scores this season of 9.800 or higher.Â

Sophomore Stud
Joselene Hernandez had a standout performance on the vault last Friday, turning in a 9.800 on the apparatus. The score marked her third score of 9.800 or higher this season on the vault and her first since March 6. She has a career-high 9.825 from earlier this season on February 27.Â

Season-High Vault
The Gymhawks conclude the MIC Championship on the vault a week ago and turned in their season-high in the final rotation of the evening. SEMO scored a 48.950 matching their previous score from March 6.Â

Steady Improving
SEMO figured out a way to improve their bar score from the final regular season meet of the season to the MIC Championship as the squad turned in a 48.425 to begin the meet  last Friday. The Gymhawks scored their highest score in six meets last Friday night since they scored a 48.650 on February 6. SEMO Gymnastics has a season-high 48.750 on the bars dating back to the first meet of the 2026 campaign.Â
