NORMAL, Ill. – Southeast Missouri Gymnastics captured the 2026 Midwest Independent Conference Championship on Friday night with a 194.950 at CEFCU Arena, marking the program's fifth MIC title in the 50
th season of the program. SEMO Gymnastics secured the title for the first time in 11 years with the last conference title coming in 2014.
Senior
Taylor Ingle, competing in her 27
th-straight all-around competition, saved her best for last as she turned in a season-high 39.275 in the all-around headlined by an impressive season-high 9.875 on vault. Ingle also captured the overall event title on the vault with her final score. She scored a 9.800 on all of the other three events in bars, beam, and floor to capture the 2026 MIC all-around title.
The Gymhawks tied their season-high on the vault with a 48.950 in the fourth and final rotation of the evening and narrowly missed a season best on the floor (48.950) with a 48.850 in rotation three.
Eighth year Head Coach
Ashley Lawson captured her first MIC Championship title in her career on Friday night. She was named MIC 'Coach of the Year' on Thursday night at the pre-championship banquet.
Bars
- The Gymhawks began the evening on the bars and turned in a 48.425 led by Ingle with a 9.800 in the fifth spot of the rotation
- Sophomore Gracie Jones scored the second-highest score with a 9.750 which tied her second best score this season
Beam
- SEMO turned to the beam for rotation two and clocked in a 48.725 marking the fifth highest team score on the beam this season
- Junior Jaidan Kossuth turned in her second-highest score of the season on the beam to lead the Gymhawks with a 9.825 from spot five
- Taylor Ingle followed close behind with a 9.800 in the fourth spot of the rotation
- Graduate Nyah Reader led off the rotation with the third highest score, turning in a 9.725
- Junior Jordan Napolitano and freshman Kennedy Fisher rounded out the top scorers with a 9.700 and 9.675, respectively.
- The Gymhawks took a running score of 97.150 into the third rotation
Floor
- SEMO continued its night on the floor in rotation three turning in a 48.850 headlined by a pair of 9.800s from Anna Lee Phillips and Taylor Ingle
- Junior Leah Parton finished in second place on the apparatus with a 9.775 followed by sophomore Reagan Sams with a 9.750
- For Parton, her 9.775 marked her second-highest score of the season on floor
- Senior Kailyn Hamilton scored a 9.725 to start the floor, making it two-straight weeks with a 9.725
- SEMO would take a 146.000 running score into the fourth and final rotation
Vault
- The Gymhawks saved their best for last, turning in a meet-best 48.950 to secure the MIC Championship headlined by Taylor Ingle with a 9.875 for a new season-high
- Sophomore Joselene Hernandez and senior Kailyn Hamilton each turned in a 9.800 on the vault
- For Hamilton, her 9.800 marked a season-high score surpassing her previous high of 9.750
The Gymhawks will return to action next weekend at the WCGNIC beginning on Friday, March 27, in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
