Season Sweep
Southeast goes for its third sweep of an Ohio Valley Conference opponent this season when it welcomes SIU Edwardsville Saturday. The Redhawks swept Morehead State by scores of 78-75 (Cape Girardeau) and 78-62 (Morehead), and Eastern Illinois by scores of 86-74 (Charleston) and 80-73 (Cape Girardeau). Southeast has a total of four season sweeps of league opponents under head coach Rick Ray.
Brewer Shines
Freshman Ledarrius Brewer dropped in a career-high 34 points and made seven 3-pointers to lead Southeast to an 80-73 win over Eastern Illinois Thursday. Brewer became the second Redhawk to score 30 or more points in a game this season. He is also the first Southeast player to drain seven or more 3-pointers in a game since Corey Wilford knocked down eight at Austin Peay on Feb. 28, 2013.
New Season-High
The Redhawks made a season-high 13 three-pointers against Eastern Illinois Thursday. Southeast shot 59.1 percent on 13-of-22 from downtown. It was the Redhawks best 3-point field goal percentage in an Ohio Valley Conference game and second-best overall this season.
Gable Cleared
Freshman forward Isaiah Gable was cleared to play prior to Thursday's game against Eastern Illinois. Gable participated in warm-ups, but did not see action in that game. He missed each of the last 13 games with a foot fracture.
What a Comeback!
The Redhawks overcame a 15-point deficit with a little over nine minutes left in their 81-77 overtime win at UT Martin (Feb. 10). Southeast trailed, 64-49, midway into the second half. The Redhawks rallied to score 15 of the final 25 points in regulation and used a 3-pointer by Denzel Mahoney with one second left to go to overtime. Daniel Simmons then scored five of Southeast's seven points in the extra period to nail down the comeback win. The Redhawks erased their largest deficit of the season en route to picking up the win.Â
Closing In
The Redhawks need 10 more 3-pointers to break the school's single-season team record in 3-pointers made. Southeast made 263 three-pointers for the record a year ago. The Redhawks currently have 254 three-point field goals made.
Let's Get Another
Southeast goes for its fourth-straight win Saturday. The Redhawks erased double-digit deficits in back-to-back road wins and upended Eastern Illinois at home. Southeast's current winning streak is its longest in Ohio Valley Conference play this year.

Mahoney Named OVC Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Southeast Missouri guard/forward Denzel Mahoney was named the adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Co-Player of the Week on Feb. 12. A native of Oviedo, Florida, Mahoney averaged 21 points, four rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, helping SEMO overcome two  double-digit deficits en route to a pair of victories last week. He began the week by scoring 15 points and went over 1,000 in his career in a 78-62 win at Morehead State (Feb. 8). Two days later, Mahoney dropped in 27 points and made the game-tying 3-pointer with one second left in regulation to send the game to overtime at UT Martin (Feb. 10). The Redhawks were down 15 points with a little over nine minutes left in regulation before rallying to beat the Skyhawks. For the week, Mahoney shot 54.5 percent (12-of-22) from the field, 53.8 percent (7-of-13) from 3-point range and 91.7 percent (11-of-12) at the free throw line.
