Southeast has gone 1-14 in the previous 15 meetings with the Eagles. The last time the Redhawks beat MSU was on Dec. 28, 2011 (67-51) in Cape Girardeau.
Two Home Games
This week's games against Morehead State (Jan. 11) and Eastern Kentucky (Jan. 13) are Southeast's only two home contests in January. The Redhawks are on the road for six of their eight scheduled games this month. Southeast began 2018 with a 89-73 loss at Murray State (Jan. 4) and a 76-71 setback at Austin Peay (Jan. 6). Both the Racers and Governors are tied for first in the Ohio Valley Conference standings with 4-0 league records.
Looking for Some Ws
The Redhawks enter the week looking to get back on track after dropping six of their last seven games. Southeast welcomes both Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky to the Show Me Center. The Eagles and Colonels are presently winless in Ohio Valley Conference play with 0-4 marks. Southeast goes after its second-straight home win after beating Tennessee State, 77-65, on Dec. 31.
Last Time Out
Southeast erased an 11-point deficit with the help of eight second-half 3-pointers, but came up short in the final seconds of a 76-71 road loss to Austin Peay (Jan. 6). The Redhawks were down, 51-40, with 12:46 remaining in the second half when it used a 13-2 run fueled by a pair of 3-pointers by Ledarrius Brewer to tie the game. Jonathan Dalton later nailed a 3-pointer to grab Southeast a 62-61 edge with 5:36 on the clock. However, the Redhawks had two unforced turnovers in the last 37 seconds that enabled the Governors to escape. APSU outrebounded Southeast by a +21 margin (44-23). The Governors had 22 offensive rebounds, most by an opponent since Xavier had 27 offensive boards against the Redhawks on Nov. 10, 2007.
