Series History
The Redhawks lead the all-time series against Eastern Illinois, 37-32. Southeast has won six of the last seven meetings with the Panthers including earning a sweep at home last season. The last loss came two years ago in Charleston.

A Peek at What's Ahead
The Redhawks will take on Southern Illinois on the road Tuesday, Apr. 11. SEMO and the Salukis will square off in the first game of the home-and-home series at 5 p.m. in Carbondale. SEMO will come home to Capaha for Easter weekend to host Jacksonville State Apr. 13-15.

Scouting the Panthers
Eastern Illinois enters the weekend 5-23 on the season and 2-7 in OVC play. EIU has played limited games at home, going 3-2 in only five contests at Coaches Stadium. Most recently, the Panthers were swept by Tennessee Tech and dropped a midweek contest at Saint Louis, 12-1. The two conference victories came in the OVC opener against Jacksonville State (3/17) and over Murray (3/25). Jimmy Govern is the lone Panther hitting over .300 this season with a .345 batting average; however, Matt Albert is one of the driving forces behind the offense, slugging .678 with 10 home runs and 34 RBI. As a team, EIU is hitting .238 and has been outscored 248-131. Friday starter Jake Haberer is sporting a team-best 4.43 ERA with an 0-1 record in eight appearances and three starts. Alex Stevenson is the lone two-win pitcher on the staff but has a 7.79 ERA.

OVC Pitcher of the Week
Clay Chandler was voted the adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week this week. He made his second career appearance out of the pen and earned the save at Missouri on Tuesday. He pitched one and two-thirds scoreless innings and struck out three of the six batters he faced en route to his first Redhawk save. In his Saturday start, Chandler pitched seven scoreless innings against Austin Peay, allowing only two hits to the Govs. He struck out eight hitters on the week and walked only one batter in 8.2 innings of work. Chandler anchored the staff for the Redhawks' first shutout of the season on Saturday and first of APSU since 2003. This is Chandler's fourth OVC weekly honor in his second year in a Redhawk uniform.

Home Sweet Home
In 14 games at Capaha Field this season, Southeast is 11-3 including a 5-1 OVC clip. The Redhawks are hitting .316 at Capaha and holding opponents to a .244 average while outscoring them, 123-62. Individually, Dan Holst is hitting .490 while Tristen Gagan has hit six homers and driven in 24 runs.

Wizard of Osborne
Right fielder Chris Osborne extended his hitting streak to 19 games on Tuesday but saw it snapped the following evening. Osborne hit .468, slugged .688, and recorded a .528 on base clip, all of which led the team in that span. He has also drove in 22 runs. During the streak, Osborne had 11 multi-hit games and a team-best seven multi-RBI performances. He raised his batting average up nearly two hundred points from .208 to .406.

Going Streaking
Four Redhawks are currently riding double-digit on-base streaks. Clayton Evans has a team-leading 22-game streak (career long) followed by Chris Osborne with a 21-game streak. Freshman Connor Basler (18) and Dan Holst (15) follow.

But Does He Get on Base?
Senior outfielder Dan Holst led the squad last season with a .475 on base percentage and currently leads this season with a .496 clip. His .481 career on base percentage ranks fourth among active Division I players.

Hang In There, Slugger
Chris Osborne not only finished as the team and conference leader in slugging last season, he was the national slugging champion with a .741 slugging percentage. So far this season, he is slugging .612 and his career .691 slugging percentage leads active Division I players and ranks 11th in all of college baseball. His career .379 batting average ranks fourth in Division I.

'Show Me' Baseball
The four Division I baseball teams in the state of Missouri (SEMO, Missouri, Missouri State, Saint Louis) are a combined 72-38 (.654) this season. Southeast is the only team that plays the three other programs. The Redhawks have earned wins over Missouri State and Missouri already this season.
