Series History
Southeast Missouri trails in the all-time series with Arkansas State, 18-23. Last season was the first since 2011 that the Redhawks swept the Red Wolves in the home-and-home series. SEMO is 4-6 in the last 10 meetings in Jonesboro including winning the last two straight.Â

A Peek at What's Ahead
The Redhawks' busy week will continue this weekend with a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series at Eastern Illinois. The series will begin Friday at 3 p.m. First pitch Saturday and Sunday will be at 1 p.m. from Charleston. The Redhawks will take on Southern Illinois on the road Tuesday, Apr. 11 before returning home to host Jacksonville State Apr. 13-15.Â

Scouting the Red Wolves
Arkansas State enters this week's series with an overall record of 14-13. At home, the Red Wolves are 9-6 with a 5-7 road record. In all, A State has been outscored 187-163 on the season. Joe Schrimpf leads the squad with a .326 batting average and is one of only two players hitting north of .300. He ranks towards the top with 23 RBI with three home runs and six doubles. Schrimpf leads the team in slugging (.517) and on base (.479). The pitching staff currently carries a 5.66 ERA. Tuesday's starter Bradey Welsh has made tow starts in six appearances with 12.1 innings of work. Wednesday's starter Collin Cahill will make his fifth start of the season. He carries a 7.04 ERA in 15.1 innings. A stat category the Red Wolves have been excelling at is being hit by a pitch. As a team they rank seventh nationally in the category with 46 HBPs. Individually, Jake Bakamus ranks third in the country with 12.Â

OVC Pitcher of the Week
Clay Chandler was voted the adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week this week. He made his second career appearance out of the pen and earned the save at Missouri on Tuesday. He pitched one and two-thirds scoreless innings and struck out three of the six batters he faced en route to his first Redhawk save. In his Saturday start, Chandler pitched seven scoreless innings against Austin Peay, allowing only two hits to the Govs. He struck out eight hitters on the week and walked only one batter in 8.2 innings of work. Chandler anchored the staff for the Redhawks' first shutout of the season on Saturday and first of APSU since 2003. This is Chandler's fourth OVC weekly honor in his second year in a Redhawk uniform.

Wizard of Osborne
Right fielder
Chris Osborne extended his hitting streak to 18 games this weekend, a career-long for the redshirt-senior. Osborne is hitting .466, slugged .699, and recorded a .529 on base clip, all of which lead the team in that span. He has also driven in 22 runs. During the streak, Osborne has 10 multi-hit games and a team-best seven multi-RBI performances. Since his last hitless game (Western Illinois, 2/26), he has raised his batting average up 194 points from .208 to .402.Â

Four Redhawks are currently riding double-digit on-base streaks.
Clayton Evans has a team-leading 20-game streak (career long) followed by
Chris Osborne with a 19-game streak. Freshman

Senior outfielder
Dan Holst led the squad last season with a .475 on base percentage and currently leads this season with a .487 clip. His .479 career on base percentage ranks fifth among active Division I players.Â

Hang In There, Slugger
Chris Osborne not only finished as the team and conference leader in slugging last season, he was the national slugging champion with a .741 slugging percentage. So far this season, he is slugging .629 and his career .700 slugging percentage leads active Division I players and ranks 10th in all of college baseball. His career .380 batting average ranks third in Division I.Â

The four Division I baseball teams in the state of Missouri (SEMO, Missouri, Missouri State, Saint Louis) are a combined 70-35 (.667) this season. Southeast is the only team that plays the three other programs. The Redhawks have earned wins over Missouri State and #23 Missouri already this season.Â
