Krumrey opened the tournament by tossing 5.1 scoreless innings and struck out three in a combined 2-0 shutout over Loyola-Chicago. The Redhawks became the second team to shutout the Ramblers, who opened the year winning 14-straight games. Two days later, Krumrey recorded a season-high five strikeouts in a complete game victory over Alabama A&M. She allowed only one earned run in 12.1 innings over her last two starts.
