Redhawks Drop Saturday Doubleheader to Lindenwood

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri (14-27, 10-9) dropped two games to Lindenwood (22-20, 11-9) by scored of 7-3 and 5-0 Saturday at the Southeast Softball Complex.
 
LU overcame a two-run deficit to get by SEMO in game one.
 
Lily Delmain's two-run home run put the Redhawks ahead, 2-0, in the bottom of the third inning before the Lions countered with a five-run fourth to pull ahead.
 
Kylee Crowder hit a grand slam to key LU's decisive surge.
 
SEMO cut LU's lead to 5-3 on an RBI-single by Delmain in the bottom of the fifth.
 
LU then finished things off when designated player Emily Geary hit a two-run home run in the sixth.
 
Ryleigh Owens (7-5) picked up the win working 4.2 innings with three runs and five hits allowed. Owens walked four, as well. 
 
Samantha Roulanaitis was credited with her second save of the season.
 
Maddie Carney (4-12) gave up five runs on four hits and walked three in 3.1 innings. Willow Haren pitched the rest of the way giving up two runs on three hits to go along with one walk and three strikeouts.
 
Delmain went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a home run and two RBI to lead the Redhawks.
 
Ava Risum tossed a complete game shutout to lead LU in the nightcap.
 
The Lions scored three runs in the top of the second inning after loading the bases on three walks. A RBI walk by Madisen Noll scored the first run and Tori Hatton added a two-out RBI single to give LU a 3-0 advantage.
 
Teryn Brown knocked in a run on a sacrifice fly in the third and Hatton homered in the top of the seventh inning to end the scoring.
 
SEMO and LU wrap up their series at 12 p.m., CT Sunday.
