Tennis Falls in Carbondale, 6-1

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southeast Missouri (5-3) fell, 6-1, to Southern Illinois (2-4) Friday night, snapping their four-match winning streak.
SEMO began the evening dropping all three matches in doubles play. Isabella Krupa and Oleksandra Doroshenko hung tough at the top of the lineup but fell, 6-4 to SIU's top duo. Kseniya Zonova and Anais Emelie returned to the No. 2 position, losing their match 6-1. Ana Canahuate-Torres and Mila Majtan rounded out the lineup with a, 6-2, loss at No. 3.
In singles play, Southeast lost five of six matches to close out the night. Krupa won at the top of the lineup in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. Emelie put up a strong fight in the No. 5 position, but ultimately fell, 6-4, 7-5. Doroshenko (No. 2), Zonova (No. 3), Warasanti (No. 4) and Torres (No. 6) each lost in straight sets.
The Redhawks will return to action Mar. 10 at Lipscomb University.
