Let's Review
The Redhawks picked up a 7-4 victory over regional rival Southern Illinois at home Tuesday. Southeast Missouri went 2-2 last week. Southeast capped the week with their sixth Ohio Valley Conference series win of the season. Southeast took two of three from Eastern Illinois on the road. The Redhawks won game one 21-1, their largest margin of victory of the season. After dropping a 9-5 decision in game two, Alex Winkelman and the Redhawks came back to blank the Panthers in game three, 5-0.

OVC Pitcher of the Week
Junior left-handed pitcher Alex Winkelman's complete game shutout of Eastern Illinois Sunday has earned him adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week honors, the league announced Monday. Winkelman allowed six hits in Sunday's start against Eastern Illinois. He struck out four Panther hitters and walked only one in nine innings of work. Sunday's win was Winkelman's first of the season after suffering a number of no decisions this season. It was Winkelman's first pitcher of the week honor of his career.

OVC Pitcher of the Week Three-Peat
With Alex Winkelman earned OVC Pitcher of the Week, the Redhawks have earned the honor three straight weeks. Joey Lucchesi picked up the award on Mar. 30 and Travis Hayes earned it a week ago on Apr. 6. This is the first time since 2008 Southeast has had three OVC Pitchers of the Week and its the first time in program history that Southeast has won it three weeks in a row.

Opening Frame Production
The Redhawks have scored in the first inning in each of their last four games. When scoring in the opening frame, the Redhawks are 10-5 this season. Southeast has scored 31 first-inning runs.

Assisting From Afar
The Redhawks rank among the best in the nation in outfield assists. Southeast has 13 assists from the outfield this season. Trevor Ezell, who splits time between the outfield and the infield, has a team-high five while Dalton Hewitt has four.

Patience (at the Plate) is a Virtue
The Redhawks are the second most patient team at the plate in the nation as they rank second in base on balls with 211. That is first in the OVC, 10 more than Jacksonville State. Trevor Ezell ranks 13th nationally in the category with 32 while Dalton Hewitt is 29th with 29. The Redhawks have three players in the top 5 in the OVC including Jason Blum (25).

Looking Ahead
The Redhawks will once again take to the road for a four-game road swing next week. Southeast will play the final game of its home-and-home series with Southern Illinois Tuesday at 6:30 in Carbondale, Illinois. The Redhawks will then play Murray State in a three-game series in Murray, Kentucky.
