Junior left-handed pitcher Alex Winkelman's complete game shutout of Eastern Illinois Sunday has earned him adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week honors, the league announced Monday. Winkelman allowed six hits in Sunday's start against Eastern Illinois. He struck out four Panther hitters and walked only one in nine innings of work. Sunday's win was Winkelman's first of the season after suffering a number of no decisions this season. It was Winkelman's first pitcher of the week honor of his career.

With Alex Winkelman earning OVC Pitcher of the Week, the Redhawks have earned the honor three straight weeks. Joey Lucchesi picked up the award on Mar. 30 and Travis Hayes earned it a week ago on Apr. 6. This is the first time since 2008 Southeast has had three OVC Pitchers of the Week and its the first time in program history that Southeast has won it three weeks in a row.
