Let's Review
It's been an exciting first half of March for the Redhawks as they have gone 6-3 in their last nine to start the month. Most recently, the Redhawks picked up a 12-11 win over SEC foe Arkansas Wednesday. Southeast split the two-game series with the Razarbacks after Arkansas walked off 4-3 in the ninth inning of game one. Southeast Missouri has now won six of its last eight meetings with the Razorback dating back to 2000. The Redhawks improved to 4-2 in Ohio Valley Conference play with their second OVC series win. The Redhawks took two of three from the Morehead State Eagles on the road.

March Mayhem
Southeast has started the month of March with a 6-3 record. Southeast played 10 games in February and were out-scored by their opponents, 53-51 and went 4-6. In nine games thus far in March, the offense has erupted for 79 runs compared to the 57 scored by opponents. As a team, Southeast is hitting .311 with 73 RBI.

Road Warriors
The Redhawks have bussed approximately 4,909 miles this season, give or take. They have played in six different states including Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Tennessee and Indiana will eventually be added to the list as the season progresses.

Score Quick and Early
Eight of the Redhawks' wins have come when they have been leading after two innings (8-2). Southeast has combined for 60 runs in the first three innings of games this season. More specifically, 79 runs have been scored in the first three innings alone. The Redhawks have scored nine or more runs six times.

Rip Roarin' Rookie
Freshman Trevor Ezell has come to Southeast Missouri and made an immediate impact. He has reached base safely in each of Southeast's games this season for a 19-game reached base safely streak. He has also started every game, either in left field (14 games) or at second base (5 games). Ezell has batted in the leadoff position (12 games) and the second spot in the order (7 games). Ezell has drawn a team-leading 20 walks and is sporting a team-high .494 on base percentage. He also leads the Redhawks with 22 runs scored and four stolen bases. He has also tallied six assists from the outfield this season.

Johnny Bench Award Watch List
Southeast Missouri junior catcher Scott Mitchell has been named to the Johnny Bench Award Watch List. Mitchell is a native of Dublin, California. The award, presented by BaseballSavings.com and administered by the Greater Wichita (Kan.) Area Sports Commission, will be presented on June 25 in Wichita. Semifinalists will be announced May 14, and finalists will be announced on June 2.

Looking Ahead
Southeast will bring their four-game home stand to a close with a midweek game against Saint Louis Tuesday at 3 p.m. They turn around and begin a four-game road swing beginning Wednesday against Arkansas State at 4 p.m. They will then play a three-game conference series at SIUE starting March 27.
