Final ResultsCLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Southeast Missouri (1-9) earned its first win of the season and snapped a 17-match losing streak with a 4-3 victory over Austin Peay (2-10) Saturday.
Southeast picked up its first win since Mar. 22, 2014 when it beat Morehead State, 4-3.
"Our team played well to get their first win," said Southeast head coach
Leah Killen. "Hopefully, our confidence will continue and we can keep developing as a team."
The Redhawks earned all four of their points in singles competition.
Kateryna Stoianova beat Hannah Tatlock, 3-6, 7-6, 6-4, at No. 2,
Maria Montenegro defeated Brittney Covington, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 4,
Annisa Warasanti upended Isabela Jovanovic, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 5 and
Melissa Martin took care of Jovana Karac, 6-7, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 6.
That was all Southeast needed as APSU secured the doubles point.
The Redhawks resume Ohio Valley Conference play at Murray State Sunday.
