Redhawks Storylines

1. Southeast is the defending Midwest Independent Conference champion. Heading into the weekend, the Redhawks have a regional qualifying score of 193.135 this season, which is the third-best ranking of MIC programs and No. 55 nationally.
 
2. As a team, the Redhawks recorded a season-high score of 194.550 in the victory vs. Texas Woman's on Feb. 15. Southeast established a season-best floor exercise score with a 48.675. Ashley Thomas won the all-around with a career-best 39.100 and won the vault and beam titles. Alyssa Tucker claimed the uneven bars and floor titles.
 
3. In last Friday's meet vs. Centenary, the Redhawks posted a 49.000 on uneven bars, which was the highest score for Southeast on bars since 2004 and tied for the seventh-best mark in program history. It was the third time in team history that a bars unit scored 49.000. Four gymnasts - Taylor Penzien, McKenna Stanley, Alexandria Stokes and Bailey Walker - recorded career-highs during the rotation. Penzien recorded the highest individual score of the season with a 9.875.
 
4. Redhawks athletes were named MIC Gymnast of the Week following the first three meets of the season. Tucker received the award in two consecutive weeks while fellow sophomore Thomas earned recognition following the season opener.
 
5. With a season-best 48.825 on vault Jan. 23 at Oklahoma, the Redhawks tied for the 10th-highest vault score in program history, marking the third time that score has been achieved.
