CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Southeast Missouri softball team takes the short drive up I-55 Wednesday for a nonconference doubleheader with Saint Louis. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The Redhawks snapped out of an offensive funk on Saturday, scoring three runs on seven hits in game two of a doubleheader against Tennessee Tech.
Leah Duffe went 2-for-3 while
Renee Terry,
Chelsea Smith,
Kelsey Gass,
Jamie Woodworth and
Savannah Carpenter each picked up a hit.
Keaira Schilling carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning and ended with a three-hit performance.
Saint Louis enters Wednesday's action 20-18 overall while holding a 6-5 record in Atlantic-10 play. The Redhawks and Billikens met on March 1 during the All-Missouri Cancer Classic, where SLU picked up the 7-4 victory.
Lindsay Friedman leads Saint Louis in most major batting categories including average (.339), hits (39), runs (35), triples (two), home runs (nine), RBI (30), and slugging percentage (.661.) Brianna Lore is the top pitcher with a 16-11 record and 2.78 ERA.
Following Wednesday's action, the Redhawks travel to Martin, Tenn., for a three-game series with UT Martin beginning Saturday with a 1 p.m. first pitch.
