Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Game 1 Box Score | Game 2 Box Score

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Ohio Valley Conference West Division leader SIU Edwardsville (19-18, 11-3) swept Southeast Missouri (7-24, 2-11) in a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Cougar Field. The Redhawks lost by scores of 10-0 and 9-2.

Haley Chambers struck out 11, did not allow a hit and threw a perfect game through 4.1 innings to lead SIUE to a 10-0 shutout.

Chambers saw her perfect game come to an end when Haylee Krack reached base on a passed ball after striking out. She had retired 13-straight Southeast hitters and struck out the side in each of her first two innings prior to Krack's at-bat.

With Chambers in control, SIUE's offense gave her plenty of run support. The Cougars scored once in the first, four times in the second, twice in the third and added three more runs in the fourth.

Brittany Toney hit a three-run homer off Hannah Durham to key the second inning which put the Cougars ahead, 5-0.

Allison Smiley delivered a two-RBI double and SIUE tacked on its final run on an error in the fourth.

Offensively, the Cougars had 10 hits with six coming from the top three hitters in their lineup. Chelsea Yankolovich went 2-for-2 with three runs scored, Smiley went 2-for-3 with a run scored and one RBI and Alex McDavid finished at 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Durham (2-9) scattered 10 hits, gave up 10 runs and issued four walks in four innings.

Southeast took a 2-0 lead in the second inning of game two, but SIUE countered with nine unanswered runs to complete the doubleheader sweep.

Lindsey Patterson scored on an error and Nicole Deering singled home Krack to give the Redhawks a quick two-run edge.

Yankolovich belted a two-RBI double with two outs to tie the game in the bottom of the second.

Whitney Lanphier smacked a two-run home run to give SIUE the lead in the third and the Cougars never looked back.

Lanphier came up big again, this time with a three-RBI double as SIUE blew the game open with five runs in the fourth. Lanphier later scored on a single by Rachel Coonrod. Toney also scored on a SAC-bunt to push the Cougars lead to 9-2.

Erin Greenwalt (8-7) picked up the win. Greenwalt gave up six hits and two runs, while striking out four and walking none in six innings.

Keaira Schilling (2-10) suffered the loss. Schilling allowed nine runs on 10 hits, walked three and struck out two.

Savannah Carpenter and Deering each had two hits to lead Southeast.

Lanphier paved the way for SIUE, going 2-for-3 with two runs, a home run, double and five RBI.

Southeast lost its fifth-straight series in Ohio Valley Conference play.

The Redhawks and Cougars wrap up their three-game series Sunday at 1 p.m., CT.
