MURRAY, Ky. – The Southeast Missouri baseball team drove in five runs with two-outs on their way to a 7-4 win over Murray State in the team's series finale at Reagan Field in Murray, Ky. on Sunday afternoon. Senior Tony Zerrusen went four innings out of the Redhawks bullpen earning his first win of the season.
“Those two out hits are how you win ball games,” said head coach Steve Bieser.
The Redhawks improve to 22-27 on the season and 13-14 in the Ohio Valley Conference as Murray State falls to 20-28 and 8-16 in the OVC.
Clayton Evans led the Redhawks going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Matt Tellor was also 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
Hewitt also added a pair of hits for the Redhawks as he also added an RBI and run scored.

“Tony did a great job today and he did a good job of keeping things going as the game went on,” said Bieser.
The Redhawks got on the board with a two-run single up by Evans to give the Redhawks early 2-0 lead.

The Redhawks increased their lead to 7-1 in the top of the sixth inning with three runs. Southeast scored two runs on a wild pitch and Dalton Hewitt highlighted the inning with a two out RBI single to right field.
The 'Breds added a run in the sixth inning on an error by Southeast shortstop Branden Boggetto to make it a 7-2 game in favor of the Redhawks.
Murray State started a brief rally with two runs in the ninth, but it wasn't enough as the Redhawks took the contest 8-4.
Starter Luke Shearrow was impressive throwing four shutout innings to open the game with two strikeouts.
Cashtyn DeLeeuw (3-2) was tagged with the loss going three innings allowing seven hits and seven runs.
The Redhawks host UMSL on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. in their final mid-week matchup of the season.
