MOREHEAD, Ky. - Southeast Missouri (3-10, 0-8) ended its three-match road trip with a 7-0 loss to Morehead State (3-15, 2-6) Sunday.
Southeast, winless in Ohio Valley Conference play this season, played with only four players.
Heather Robinson forced her match with Briar Preston to three sets in No. 1 singles. Robinson lost 6-2, but rallied to win the second set, 7-5. Robinson then lost the tiebreaker, 10-3. Preston was ranked No. 80 in the world as a junior player.
Jessica Courtnell, Sarah Uptmor and Lauren Schaper followed rounded out the singles lineup. Courtnell fell to Victoria Cran, 6-1, 7-5, at No. 2, Uptmor dropped a 6-0, 6-1, decision to Lissa Pacheco-Brousseau at No. 3 and Schaper was defeated by Dominique McLean, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 4. The Eagles won by default in the No. 5 and No. 6 positions.
In doubles action, Robinson/Courtnell fell to Preston/Cran, 8-2, at No. 1, and Uptmor/Schaper lost to Pacheco-Brousseau/McLean, 8-0. The Redhawks did not compete in the No. 3 spot.
Southeast returns to Cape Girardeau to host Tennessee State (Apr. 13) and Belmont (Apr. 14) in its final two matches of the season.
