CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Southeast Missouri softball team will host a three-game series with Ohio Valley Conference opponent Morehead State this weekend. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 10 at the Southeast Softball Complex starting at 1:00 p.m. before concluding the series on Sunday.
The Redhawks come in to the series with a 4-11 record and are looking to snap a nine-game losing streak. The Eagles are 5-8 on the season.
Southeast is coming off an 0-4 weekend at the Missouri Coaches vs. Caner Tournament in Kansas City, Mo.
Last weekend, Morehead went 3-2 at the Buzz Classic in Woodstock, Ga. The Eagles recorded victories over Western Carolina, Southeastern Louisiana and Rhode Island.
Kaitlin Wallace led the Redhawks last weekend at the Missouri Coaches vs. Caner Tournament after batting .417 with three runs, five hits, and two RBI. Wallace went 2-for-3 against Saint Louis and Missouri State. Wallace was named to the Missouri Coaches vs. Cancer All-Tourament team.
Alora Marble recorded two losses for Southeast last weekend after 12 innings of work. She allowed seven runs and 10 hits. Marble made three appearances, starting two and coming in as relief in the other. She pitched a complete game against UMKC on Sunday.
