Redhawks Play Host To IPFW This Weekend

Redhawks vs. the 'Dons
The Redhawks hosted the Mastadons in the teams only meeting in 2010, sweeping the three game set at Capaha Field winning 5-0, 3-2 and 6-5. The Redhawks are 16-7 all-time against teams from the Summit League. The last Sumimit League opponent that was not IPFW was South Dakota State in 2008.

Roaming Center
Sophomore outfielder Cole Bieser is the elder statesman in the outfield for the Redhawks this season. The primary centerfielder leads the Redhawks in hits with six and batting average at .400.  

Countdown to 900
Head coach Mark Hogan is 11 wins away for 900 wins in his career. Hogan has coached at the NJCAA (Lurleen B. Wallace), NCAA Division II (West Alabama) and NCAA Division I level (Southeast). Hogan has 503 wins at Southeast Missouri. Hogan collected his 500th career win against Eastern Illinois last season on May 20, 2011.In 2007, he passed Southeast legendary coach Joe Uhls as the schools all-time wins leader.

Going Streaking
Trenton Moses ended last season on an 11 game hitting streak. He extended his hitting streak to 15 games Tueday hitting a three run home run in his final at-bat of the game against Harris-Stowe, a home run that proved to be the game winner. Moses has also reached base safely in 24 straight games that dates back to last season.

Lowe's Senior Class Award
Senior third baseman Trenton Moses has been chosen as one of 30 nominees for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. The final recipient of the award will be announced at the NCAA College World Series, which will be held June 15-26.

New Blood
The Redhawks had 13 newcomer make their first apparances in a Redhawk unifrom last weekend, Tuesday's starter Cody Spanberger, Hank Williams, Jr. and Nolan Fischer also made their debuts adding to the Redhawks count of new comers to 16.
