Game Ball Brawl
•   In-state schools Southeast Missouri (2-3) and Lindenwood (1-3, 1-0) square off in the Game Ball Brawl Saturday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., CT at Hunter Stadium.
•   The rivalry game is sponsored by MRV Banks.
•   SEMO won the Game Ball Brawl trophy the first two years the teams played each other. LU, however, has the trophy after beating the Redhawks each of the last two seasons.
•   The Redhawks and Lions are the only Division I schools in Missouri that are conference rivals.
Series Tidbits
•   This year marks the fifth meeting between Southeast Missouri and Lindenwood, schools located 174 miles apart.
•   The series is tied at 2-2.
•   SEMO is 1-1 at Hunter Stadium with its one win coming on Oct. 1, 2022 (49-28).
•   The Redhawks are looking to end a two-game losing streak in their series against the Lions.
Closing in on 70 SEMO Victories
•   Tom Matukewicz, the third-longest tenured head coach in Southeast Missouri football history, is in his 13th year.
•   Matukewicz has led SEMO to program records in Ohio Valley Conference championships (3), NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Playoff appearances (4), nine-win seasons (4), victories over ranked FCS opponents (9) and OVC wins (50).
•   He is 69-74 overall and 50-37 in the OVC with the most overall and league victories of any head coach in the school's Division I era.
•   Matukewicz's 13-year tenure ranks behind Kenneth Knox (16 years, 1952-67), Abe Stuber (15 years, 1932-46) and J.F. Corleux (15 years, 1915-29).
•   His career record stands at 70-74 and includes one win while he was interim head coach at Northern Illinois in 2010.
•   Southeast Missouri is 7-4 in games after its bye week under Head Coach Tom Matukewicz.
•   SEMO posted a victory following its bye week in each of the last two seasons.
OVC Openers
•   The Redhawks are 15-20 all-time in Ohio Valley Conference openers.
•   Southeast Missouri is 10-2 in such games with Tom Matukewicz as its head coach.

•   The 2026 campaign is the third time SEMO and Lindenwood meet to start the conference season.

Cobb Tabbed OVC Specialist of the Week
•   Punter Teagan Cobb was named Ohio Valley Conference Specialist of the Week on Sept. 28.
•   Southeast Missouri claimed the OVC Specialist of the Week honor for the second week in a row.
•   A native of Rose Hill, Kansas, Cobb took a snap in the second quarter on a fake field goal against West Florida (Sept. 26) and ran six yards for a touchdown giving the Redhawks a 10-6 lead.
•   He also averaged 44.3 yards on three punts with a long of 60 yards and no touchbacks.
Non-Conference Wrap
•   Southeast Missouri finished the non-conference portion of its schedule with a close 20-17 loss to #20 West Florida (Sept. 26).
•   SEMO went 2-3 against non-conference foes this season with a 23-21 road win at Indiana State (Aug. 29) and a 27-9 home victory over Central Arkansas (Sept. 19).
Defense Playing Well
•   The Redhawks limited West Florida to only 39 rushing yards on 22 attempts.
•   UWF averaged less than two yards per carry (1.7).
•   It was the second time this season where Southeast Missouri held its opponent to under 100 rushing yards.
•   SEMO has gone two-straight games without allowing a rushing touchdown.
•   The Redhawks rank second in the Ohio Valley Conference and 19th in the Football Championship Subdivision in rushing defense (109.4 ypg allowed).Â
First Career Touchdown for Bryant
•   Wide receiver Jobe Bryant scored the first touchdown of his career vs. West Florida (Sept. 26).
•   Bryant caught a 2-yard touchdown pass from Braylen Ragland with 8:32 remaining in the fourth quarter.
•   He leads the Redhawks in receptions (18) and ranks second on the team in receiving yards (176).
Old Stomping Grounds
•   Wide receiver John Anthony, Jr. returns to St. Charles, Missouri to face his former team Saturday.
•   Anthony, Jr. spent the last four years at Lindenwood.
•   He is currently Southeast Missouri's top receiver with 14 catches for 265 yards and two touchdowns. Anthony, Jr. made an impressive Southeast Missouri debut at Indiana State (Aug. 29).
•   Most recently, Anthony, Jr. had a season-high 91 receiving yards and a touchdown at Southern Illinois (Sept. 12).
•   He leads the Ohio Valley Conference and ranks 27th in the Football Championship Subdivision with 18.9 yards per catch.
Keller Among Top-10 in Field Goals
•   Justin Keller is 22-of-32 (68.7 pct.) in field goals during his career.
•   Keller is currently ninth among Southeast Missouri's all-time career.Â
•   So far this season, Keller made 9-of-15 field goals. He leads the Ohio Valley Conference and ranks sixth in the FCS with 1.8 field goals per game.
PAT Streak
•   Justin Keller has not missed an extra point in his career.
•   Keller has made 43-consecutive PATs in his 43 attempts.
•   He scored 109 points and leads the Redhawks with 37 this season.
About Lindenwood
•   Lindenwood is on a three-game losing streak after falling on the road at Stony Brook (36-32), Missouri State (48-14) and Football Bowl Subdivision member Eastern Michigan
(29-3).
•   LU, like Southeast Missouri, is coming off its bye week.
•   The Lions are 1-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference after beating Charleston Southern, 20-17, at home on Aug. 27.
•   LU is last in the OVC in touchdowns scored (7), total offense (272.5 ypg) and passing offense (127.7 ypg).
•   Quarterback Pops Battle has thrown for 465 yards and one touchdown, and rushed for 182 yards and another three scores.
