Harris-Norman Claims OVC Specialist of the Week Honors

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri return specialist Khylen Harris-Norman earned Ohio Valley Conference Co-Specialist of the Week honors Monday.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Harris-Norman set the tone for SEMO's win over Central Arkansas (Sept. 19) by returning the opening kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown. His touchdown gave SEMO a 7-0 lead just 13 seconds into the game. Harris-Norman's 99-yard return tied Cameron Sanders (at Jacksonville State, Nov. 14, 2015) for the longest kickoff return in program history.
Ironically, it was also the Redhawks first kickoff return for a touchdown since Dalyn McDonald scored on a 97-yard return vs. Central Arkansas on Sept. 24, 2022.Â
Tennessee State running back Brenton Paul (Co-Offensive, Rookie), Western Illinois quarterback Kennedy McGill (Co-Offensive), Gardner-Webb linebacker Tre Yanez (Defensive) and Gardner-Webb kicker Tyler Simpson (Co-Specialist) are the rest of this week's honorees.Â
