Doyle Tabbed OVC Co-Player of the Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Designated hitter Gunnar Doyle was selected as this week's Co-Ohio Valley Conference 'Player of the Week' after his stellar performance this past weekend at Morehead State, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Doyle, a native of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, tied the all-time single game record for RBIs with nine during Saturday's 21-7 victory during the second game of the doubleheader. Doyle finished 4-5 at the plate with a pair of home runs and a double in the contest.
Doyle became the third Redhawk to achieve nine RBIs in a game after current teammate Cole Warehime did it a season ago at EIU (3/21/24) with two grand slams and an RBI single.
He capped off the weekend with three more RBIs and the go-ahead, three-run home run in the top of the ninth inning on Sunday afternoon to give the Redhawks an 11-10 lead, and an eventual series sweep.
Doyle finished the week going 6-10 at the plate (.600) with a slugging-percentage of 1.600. He recorded six hits, three of them home runs, a double, and a single. He recorded 12 RBIs total and scored six runs of his own en route to claiming his first ever OVC 'Player of the Week' honors.
He also became the first Redhawk in 2025 to win 'Player of the Week' honors.

SEMO Baseball will host Murray State on Tuesday, April 29, for the final midweek contest of the 2025 campaign. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m., CT. at Capaha Field.
