Baseball Adds Six to 2027 Signing Class

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Baseball has announced the signing of six players for the 2027 high school recruiting class, the program announced on Tuesday morning. RHP John Haberkorn, RHP Ben Lackey, shortstop Cooper Callahan, LHP Blake Coleman, RHP Drew Parsons, and RHP Jaxson Joggerst complete the Redhawks' signing class. Each is a Missouri native and is ranked by Prep Baseball Report as one of the top 50 players in the state. 
 
John Haberkorn – 6-2 – RHP – Eureka High School – Eureka, Missouri
RHP John Haberkorn is a native of Eureka, Missouri and will join the Redhawks after graduating from Eureka High School in 2026. Haberkorn is a RHP and has lettered two seasons so far in his high school career. 
 
John will join the Redhawks alongside his high school teammate and fellow pitcher and signee Ben Lackey at Southeast. Haberkorn was also named a First Team All-Conference Utility Player following his junior season. 
 
Haberkorn is a standout in the classroom with a 4.0+ GPA. The son of Todd and Valerie Haberkorn, John intends on majoring in engineering at Southeast. 
 
Ben Lackey – 6-3 – RHP – Eureka High School – Wildwood, Missouri
RHP Ben Lackey is a native of Wildwood, Missouri and will join the Redhawks after graduating from Eureka High School in 2026. Lackey has lettered the last three seasons for Eureka HS on the mound. 
 
So far in his career, Lackey has been a First Team All-Conference and First Team All-District pitcher. He helped lead Eureka to back-to-back conference championships in 2024 and 2025, along with a second-place finish in the district playoffs in 2025. 
 
In the classroom, Lackey is a Renaissance Academic Honor Roll student. 
 
The son of John and Kiara Lackey, Ben intends on majoring in business/finance at Southeast. 
 
Cooper Callahan – 6-2 – Shortstop – Blue Springs South HS – Blue Springs, Missouri
Shortstop Cooper Callahan is a native of Blue Springs, Missouri and will join the Redhawks after graduating from Blue Springs South High School in 2026. At his shortstop position, Cooper has lettered all three years for the Jaguars in the middle of the infield. 
 
In three seasons so far, Cooper has been a two-time All-Conference and All-District selection. He was named a First Team All-State selection and secured an ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award this past season. 
 
Cooper helped lead Blue Springs South to the 2025 Missouri State Championship where they secured the title. He has been a part of two 25+ win seasons during his career. 
 
He also was a standout on the basketball court, having played all four seasons over his high school career. 
 
In the classroom, Cooper is a two-time Academic All-State selection and is a member of National Honors Society. He enjoys fishing, watching football, and hanging out with his friends. 

The son of Shawn and Stephanie Callahan, Cooper intends on majoring in business/marketing at Southeast. 
 
Blake Coleman – 6-2 – LHP – De Soto High School – De Soto, Missouri
LHP Blake Coleman is a native of De Soto, Missouri and will graduate from De Soto High School in 2026. Coleman has lettered all four seasons at De Soto primarily on the mound and in the outfield. 
 
Following his first three seasons, Coleman has been a First Team All-Conference selection. He has been a two-time First Team All-District selection following his freshman and junior campaigns and was a Second Team All-District selection following his sophomore season. 
 
Coleman helped lead his team to two Fredericktown Wooden Bat Tournament Championships. 
 
In the classroom, Coleman is a standout student as he has had six High Honor semesters. He is a member of National Honors Society and ranks in the top one percent of his class. He was also named 'Student of the Month' by De Soto High School. 
 
The son of Charles and Trish Coleman, Blake intends on majoring in business at Southeast. 
 
Drew Parsons – 6-0 – RHP – Jackson High School – Jackson, Missouri
RHP Drew Parsons is a native of nearby Jackson, Missouri and will graduate from Jackson High School in 2026. Parsons has lettered all four years on the mound for the Indians. 
 
During his junior season, Parsons pitched in 60 innings while accumulating a 1.50 ERA and just a .175 opposing batting average. Parsons recorded 80 strikeouts during his junior season which ranks him fifth all-time for a single season in Jackson HS Baseball history. 
 
Parsons helped lead the Indians to a SEMO Conference Tournament Championship, and a Class 6 District 1 Championship during his junior season. He was also named to the SEMO Conference Tournament All-Tournament First Team. 
 
He has been a First Team All-Conference and All-District selection and was a Second Team All-State selection as well. 
 
In addition to baseball, Parsons was a standout on the football field at Jackson High School. As the Indians quarterback, Parson was named a First Team All-Conference selection and was named the SEMO Conference 'Player of the Year'. He also received the coveted 'Carr Trophy' award for his efforts on the gridiron. 
 
The son of Josh and Brandy Parsons, Drew intends on majoring in sports management at Southeast. 
 
Jaxson Joggerst – 6-6 – RHP – Eureka High School – Eureka, Mo. 
RHP Jaxson Joggerst is a native of Eureka, Missouri and will graduate from Eureka High School in 2026. Joggerst has started and lettered on the mound all four seasons as a Wildcat. 
 
During his time at Eureka, Joggerst has twice been named an all-district pitcher and a three-time all-conference selection on the mound and led his club to the 2023 Conference Championship title. 
 
A standout in the classroom, Joggerst is a member of National Honors Society and has been named 'Student of the Month' during his time at Eureka HS. 
 
The son of Brian and Amy Joggerst, Jaxson intends on majoring in business at Southeast. His brother, Dakota Joggerst, is a current Redhawk infielder on the baseball team and will be on the roster in 2026 after transferring in from Truman State.
