The third-straight bird battle for the Redhawks features the Eagles of Morehead State as SEMO maintains a 31-22 advantage over the 'Bluegrass Birds'. The Redhawks and Eagles split the season series in 2023-24 with the road team winning each game. SEMO most recently defeated MSU 70-63 in Morehead, Ky. The Eagles won on New Year's Eve a year ago in Cape Girardeau by a final score of 64-61.

Last Time Out
The Redhawks fell on Thursday night to OVC Preseason favorite Southern Indiana by a final score of 93-69 at the Show Me Center. Skylar Barnes led the Redhawks in scoring with a SEMO-high 21 points on 8-15 shooting. She finished the game 2-4 from three and a perfect 3-3 at the charity stripe. Barnes was one-of-three Redhawks in double figures followed by Zoe Best with 20 and Da'Kariya Jackson with 15. Welcome to Cape Girardeau

Jackson is a native of Jacksonville, Arkansas and spent the last two seasons at Three Rivers College. Jackson dropped in 15 points against Southern Indiana on 4-16 shooting. She was 3-8 from three-point range, and 4-4 at the free throw line.

Big Half
Last night, the Redhawks scored an even 40 points in a first half for the second time in three games. That is the most they have scored in the first half against Division I opponents all season long. The first came back on January 2 in a 75-68 victory over Tennessee State. The Redhawks are now 1-1 in games in which they score 40+ points at halftime.

Raegan McCowan of Western Illinois leads the league, averaging 20.9 points-per-game.

A Perfect Half

Best shot a perfect 100-percent in the first half of last night's game including going 5-5 from the field, 4-4 from three-point range, and 1-1 at the free throw line. She currently ranks eighth in the conference in field goal percentage at .390 through 14 games played.

Barnes has two games of 20+ points including last night's contest with the first coming against William Woods (22 points).
