SEMO Opens Conference Play at Home Against USI
Southeast Missouri women's soccer (0-6-0) is back at home this weekend to open Ohio Valley Conference play against Southern Indiana (1-6-2). The Redhawks return to Houck Stadium after a three game road stretch. First kick is slated for 1:00 p.m., CT.

Last Time Out
The Redhawks fell to Florida Atlantic last Sunday, Sept. 15, by a final score of 4-0 in Boca Raton, Fla.

Sophia Elfrink tied her single game save record with eight saves during the match. Elfrink made those eight saves while facing 20 shots from the Owls.

Jodi Smith would get the Owls started with a goal in the first half. Smith scored the goal off of her right foot in the bottom middle of the goal in the 12th minute of the contest.

Drew Dempsey scored FAU's fourth and last goal of the match. Dempsey's goal came off of her right foot into the bottom right of the goal during the 79th minute.

The Redhawks had three shots with two of them being on target compared to 12 SOGs by FAU. Cayla Koerner recorded the two shots on goal for SEMO with Alayna Jakul recording the other shot.

Elfrink, Jakul, and Kristin Anderson were the three Redhawks to play the full 90 minutes of the game.

Series History
SEMO leads the series against USI 1-0-1 with their last meeting resulting in a 0-0 tie. Southern Indiana just became an OVC member on July 1, 2022 so there have only been two all-time meetings.

The first time SEMO faced USI was Thursday, Oct. 20 at Houck, resulting in a 1-0 SEMO win.

Zoe Linter played all 90 minutes in goal in the contest, registering four saves bringing her total to 12.

Sophomore Goalkeeper, Anna Markland has started in the net all but one game. She's faced 109 shots, making 29 saves for a 0.674 save percentage.

Eva Boer (2), Payton Seymour (1), and Emerson Grafton (1) have the other goals for the Screaming Eagles this season. Seymour leads the team in shots with 12. Midfielders Maggie Duggan and Grafton have played the most minutes for USI, logging 780 and 742 minutes, respectively, of gameplay.

Overall, the Eagles have put six into the back of the net and fired off 92 shots (38 SOGs), averaging 10.2 shots per game with a 0.413 SOG percentage.

This past week Grafton was named OVC Defensive Player of the Week and Ohlwein was named OVC Offensive Player of the Week.
