
Redhawks Head to Charleston for the 2024 Outdoor Ohio Valley Conference Championship

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State track and field will head to Charleston, Ill. to compete in the 2024 Outdoor Ohio Valley Conference championship May 9-11 at the O'Brien Field on the campus of Eastern Illinois University.
The meet will begin at 9:00 a.m CT on Thursday and Friday with the heptathlon and decathlon. The field events are scheduled for 1:00 p.m and 2:30 p.m while the running events begin at 5:00 p.m both days.
Saturday's events are slated for a 11:00 a.m start with the women's shot put. The running events commence at 12:30 with the 4x100m relay race.
The awards ceremony will take place after the 4x400m relay at 4:15 p.m.
Records Broken
Brianna Dixon broke the SEMO 100m hurdle record and the high jump record at the Memphis invite. The freshman finished with a time of 13.82 and a jump of 5' 10.5 for fourth and first place. The freshman from Rantoul, Ill. broke the previous records of 13.84 and 5' 9" set by Candace Williams in 1981 and Courtney Haman in 2003.
Clara Billing broke her own SEMO pole vault record after she vaulted over a height of 13' 9.25" (5th) to break the record again. The sophomore beat her own record of 13' 3.5", which she set last outdoor season.
Team Rankings
The Southeast Missouri men's track and field team is ranked 93rd in the nation with 11.08 points coming from Parker Feuerborn's hammer throw mark of 235' 1" (71.65m) and Shea DeGraaf's decathlon score of 7,029 points.
The team is ranked 17th in the Midwest Region with 137.66 total points and third in the conference with 950.26 points behind Little Rock in first with 1,279.49 points.
The men's squad teams that are ranked in the top 50 in the nation are the discus throw team (42nd), the hammer throw team (6th), javelin throw team (37th), the pole vault team (18th), and the shot put team (26th).
The women's team is ranked 147th in the nation coming from Brianna Dixon's high jump height of 5' 10.5".
The team is ranked 16th in the Midwest Region with 130.08 total points and first in the OVC with 1,286.55 points, 418.89 points ahead of second.
The women's squad teams that are ranked in the nation are the 100m hurdle team (44th), 400m hurdle team (49th), the heptathlon team (13th), the high jump team (24th), and the pole vault team (48th)

For each individual event the top 48 performances will be accepted into the NCAA regional which is broken up into East and West. For each relay event, the top 24 relay teams will be accepted into the competition. The top 24 performances in the combined events (Heptathlon and Decathlon) are accepted directly into the Championships.
The sport is broken up into nine regions, SEMO is in the Midwest Region which includes all the Division One schools from Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois.
Southeast Missouri has four athletes ranked in the top 50 of the country, 24 performances ranked in the top 20 in the Midwest Region, and 13 first place performances in the Ohio valley Conference.
Parker Feuerborn has the 11th best mark in the nation, (3rd regionally, 1st conference) in the hammer throw. The graduate student achieved a distance of 235' 1" at the Richard Martin Invite March 15th, 2024.
Breanna Dixon jumped over a height of 5' 10.5" to be ranked 32th in the nation, fifth in the region, and first in the OVC at the Memphis Invite April 27, 2024. Dixon is also ranked 20th in the 100m hurdles (13.82) in the region.
Clara Billing cleared a height of 13' 9.25 to be ranked 38th in the NCAA, eighth in the region, and first in the Ohio Valley in the women's pole vault at the Billy Hayes Invite May 3rd.
Shea DeGraaf scored 7029 points at the Joey Haines Invite to be ranked 47th in the nation and seventh in the region. DeGraaf also has the 10th best throw in the region and best throw in the conference in the Javelin (204' 4").
Breanna Miles is ranked 13th in the region in the 100-meter (11.59), ranked 19th in the region in the 200m (1st OVC) (23.84).
Terrico Garrett is ranked 14th in the region and first in the Ohio valley in the 800-meter with a time of 1:48.94.
Hannah Eastman is ranked first in the OVC (35:44.18) in the 10,000m.
Laila Hardin has the ninth best 400-meter hurdle time in the region and top finish in the OVC with a time of 59.41.
The SEMO 4x100 women's squad of Williams, Burdine, Dwaah, Miles (46.28) ranks 13th and the men's team of Koontz, Parham, Moore, Brema (42.37) ranks 19th in the Midwest Region.
In the 4x400 the men's squad of Moore, Crawford, Parham, Garrett and the women's team of Miles, Dwaah, Hardin, Burdine both rank 13th as well in the region with a times of 3:13:00 and 3:50.59 (1st OVC).
Mason Clough jumped over a height of 6' 8.75" to be ranked 17th in the region and first in the conference.
Freshman Molly Grohman cleared a height of 5' 9.25", ranking 11th in the midwest region.
Paden Lewis is ranked 11th regionally and first in the conference in the shot put (59' 6.25"), 17th regionally and first in the Ohio Valley in the discus (176' 3"), and 12th regionally in the hammer throw (211' 7").
In the hammer throw Marshall Swadley has a mark of 207' 7" (13th regionally).
Justin Breault is ranked 14th (198' 7") in the Midwest Region in the javelin. On the women's side Jaden Kight ranks ninth in the midwest region and first in the conference (158' 2").
Anna Thomason is ranked 14th in the region and first in the OVC in the heptathlon with 5006 total points scored.
Isaac Readnour scored 6253 points in the decathlon, ranking 16th in the Midwest Region.
Weekly Award Winners
Hannah Eastman was selected as the OVC Female Track of the Week for the first time this year. The senior placed fifth in the 1500m ahead of 15 other athletes. She crossed the line at 4:38.42 for her second fastest time in her career and ranked seventh in the OVC as well.
Parker Feuerborn tabbed OVC Male Field Athlete of the Week for the third time this season. Feuerborn threw the hammer throw for a mark of 233' 07" for first ahead of 22 other athletes. That distance ranks third in SEMO history, 13th in the NCAA and second in the OVC.
Clara Billing Claimed OVC Female Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
Billing vaulted over a height of 13' 9.25' to break her own SEMO pole vault record. That mark ranked 38th in NCAA and first in Ohio Valley Conference.
