Redhawks Host Missouri State in Final Midweek of Season
Southeast Missouri Baseball (25-23, 13-8 OVC) will host in-state foe, Missouri State (19-28, 8-13 MVC), on Tuesday, May 7 from Capaha Field for the final midweek contest of the season. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. in Cape Girardeau.Â

Series History
Tuesday's contest will mark the second time this season that SEMO and MSU will meet on the diamond. Earlier this season, MSU took a midweek contest by a final score of 10-3 in Springfield, Mo. The game will be the 93rd meeting all-time between the two schools as MSU holds a 61-31 record in the matchup.Â

SEMO Baseball completed its second Ohio Valley Conference sweep over the weekend, taking all three games from Lindenwood beginning with a 13-3 drubbing on Friday afternoon. LHP
Haden Dow had a career-outing, pitching 8.0 innings allowing just three runs on seven hits. The 8.0 innings pitched was a career-high for Dow as he struck out six Lions in the contest.Â

SEMO had a big day from center fielder
Michael Mugan who finished Friday night with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate with three RBIs. Mugan was one-of-four Redhawks with a mult-RBI night.

Josh Cameron were the other three as SEMO recorded 13 runs on 12 hits. Second baseman
Brooks Kettering started a trend of three-straight, one-run innings to start Friday's contest. Kettering led off the game with his fourth home run of the season and it was all Redhawks from that point on.Â

Sam Heyman picked up his fourth win of the season in Saturday's 4-3 victory. Saturday's contest was halted in the top of the 9th inning, with two outs, due to lightning in the St. Charles area.

The game resumed on Sunday afternoon, at 12 p.m., CT., as the Redhawks' all-time saves leader,
Kyle Miller, picked up his fifth save of the season to secure the victory.Â
Heyman pitched 5.2 innings, allowed no earned runs (3 runs scored), and struck out three.Â

The Redhawks won the game while only registering two hits, both by
Ty Stauss, as errors led to the Lions demise as the Redhawks held on for the 4-3 victory.Â

Sunday's scheduled game was all Redhawks as SEMO dominated from the first pitch and won the game, 8-2, to complete the second-straight sweep of Lindenwood.Â

Brian Strange had a nice day on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings of scoreless baseball. He allowed just five hits and struck out a pair of Lions in the outing.Â

Brian Strange had their best weekend of the season at Lindenwood. Combined, the trio only allowed three earned runs over the weekend while recording 11 strikeouts. Dow (52), and Strange (43) lead the team in strikeouts.Â

Left fielder
Ty Stauss, after a five RBI weekend, leads the Redhawks with 43 RBIs on the season. The senior from WIldwood, Mo., has made 43 starts on the season and currently has a .335 batting average. Since the start of OVC play on March 22, Stauss has 16 games with at least one RBI and 10 of those have been multi-RBI days.Â

Third baseman
Caleb Corbin recorded his sixth triple of the season in Friday's 13-3 win over Lindenwood. The Iowa native is first in the Ohio Valley Conference and ranks fifth in the nation in triples. Ethan Conrad of Marist University leads the country with 13.Â

Kyle Miller made his 78th appearance as a Redhawk on Friday night as he made his fifth save of the season. Miller, the all-time saves leader, is nearing the all-time appearances record of 80.Â

Standings
SEMO enters the week with a 13-8 record in Ohio Valley Conference play after sweeping Lindenwood. After the sweep, the Redhawks move into a first-place tie with Little Rock. SEMO is a game ahead of Morehead State and Tennessee Tech who are each 12-9 in league play.Â

About Missouri State
Missouri State comes into the weekend contest with a 19-28 overall record and a 8-13 record in Missouri Valley Conference play. The Bears are currently in eighth place in their conference, a game behind former OVC-member Belmont. Over the weekend, MSU dropped two-out-of-three against Murray State in Springfield, Mo. Nick Rodriguez leads MSU with a .326 batting average and is second on the team in hits (58). Outfielder Zack Stewart provides the power in the MSU lineup as he leads the team in slugging-percentage (.661), RBIs (47), triples (2), and home runs (19).
