Redhawks on the Road Again
Southeast Missouri (2-5) travels to Springfield, Missouri for two matches this weekend. SEMO faces UL Monroe (1-2) Saturday at 11 a.m. and Missouri State (4-4) Sunday at 10 a.m., CT. Both matches will be held at the Cooper Tennis Complex.

Series History
UL Monroe holds a 2-0 series lead against Southeast Missouri. The last time SEMO faced the Warhawks was in 2019. ULM won that match, 4-2. SEMO is 9-2 all-time against Missouri State and has won the last six meetings with the Bears.

Talieu Wins Co OVC Player of the Week
Juliette Talieu was named this week's Co-Ohio Valley Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week. This is Talieu's first individual OVC weekly honors of her career. The week before, Talieu was part of the OVC Doubles Team of the Week with Daniela Hlacikova.

About Louisiana at Monroe
UL Monroe is 1-2 this season with its only win coming against LSU Shreveport in the season-opener. Since then, the Warhawks have lost to Stephen F. Austin and McNeese State. Senior Giovanna Pereira has a team-best 2-0 singles record and has teamed up with Alice Klinteby for a 2-0 record in doubles play.

About Missouri State
Missouri State enters the weekend coming off of a 4-1 win over Oral Roberts. MSU also beat Kansas City, Central Arkansas and Arkansas State thus far. Sandra Lukacova is undefeated with a 3-0 mark at the No. 5 singles and 2-0 at the No. 6 position.

Away for Awhile
The Redhawks first nine matches of the 2024 season will be played outside of Cape Girardeau. Southeast Missouri opened the year with a pair of matches in Paducah, Kentucky. The Redhawks then traveled to Bowling Green, Kentucky before making another stop in Paducah to face Lindsey Wilson College. SEMO then heads to Middle Tennessee (Feb. 9) and made a trip to Conway, Arkansas this past weekend (Central Arkansas/North Texas, Feb. 15-16) and heads to Springfield, Missouri this weekend (UL Monroe/Missouri State, Feb. 24-25). The Redhawks host Bradley in their home-opener on Mar. 2.

Redhawks Picked to Win OVC in 2024
The Redhawks are the Ohio Valley Conference preseason favorite entering the 2024 campaign. Southeast Missouri received 35 points and five first-place votes in the overall voting. SIU Edwardsville, Eastern Illinois, Tennessee State, first-year OVC member Western Illinois, Lindenwood and Southern Indiana completed the poll. Daniela Hlacikova (No. 1), Vivan Lai (No. 4), Trinity Calinescu (No. 7) and Juliette Talieu (No. 9) are ranked among the league's top 10 players ahead of the spring.
