Redhawks Host Illinois State & Fisk on Senior Night Friday
Southeast Missouri Gymnastics will return to Houck Field House for the final time in 2024 on Friday, February 16, when they take on fellow Midwest Independent Conference member Illinois State and Fisk. Competition is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m., CT. in Cape Girardeau.
Series History
The Redhawks maintain series advantages over both schools they will meet with on Friday night. SEMO and Fisk met three times in 2023, Fisk's first year as a gymnastics team, winning all three of the competitions with the Bulldogs for a 3-0 series lead.
SEMO and ISU will meet for the 110
th time in gymnastics with the Redhawks holding a 64-45 series advantage. Earlier this season, ISU defeated SEMO in Normal, Ill. by a final score of 195.600-194.475.

Friday's competition will mark the final competition inside Houck Field House for four Gymhawks. Seniors

Webb is Gymnast of the Week
Senior
Lydia Webb was selected as the MIC Gymnast of the Week, the league announced Wednesday morning. Webb, who holds the all-time all-around score in SEMO history, had an outstanding weekend beginning with Friday night's meet at the United States Air Force Academy. Webb has competed in the all-around in every meet in 2024 and finished second overall Friday night with a 39.100.
Her best score came on the Redhawks final rotation of the evening with a 9.850 on the Bars. She ranked third overall on the rotation.
She finished Friday night with a 9.725 on Vault, a 9.750 on Beam, and a 9.775 on the Floor as SEMO placed second with a 194.575.
Sunday afternoon, Webb continued her strong performance(s) and did not score below a 9.750 on all four rotation. Her 9.750 came on the Bars where she finished ninth overall.
Lydia recorded a 9.800 (10th) on the Vault, a 9.850 on the Beam (5th), and a 9.850 on the Floor (T-7th).
She finished with an all-around score of 39.250, good enough for fourth place in the meet with Denver and Iowa State.
The award is the second of the season for Webb.
Madison Greene
Junior
Madison Greene has been one of the best Gymhawks on the Floor in 2024, registering scores of 9.825 or higher on every routine this season. The Crestwood, Ky.-native has recorded three 9.900s or higher, including this past weekend at Air Force where she earned her second 9.925 this season. Her last Floor routine at Houck Field House was a 9.900 against Talladega and Winona State.
Last Time Out
Southeast Missouri Gymnastics finished second place overall at the Air Force Tri-Meet with a final score of 194.575 on Friday night edging out Sacramento State who finished third with a 194.475.
The Air Force Falcons took home the top spot with a 194.875 to win the event from Cadet West Gym.
Senior
Lydia Webb placed second overall in the all-around with a 39.100, trailing only Air Force's Maggie Slife who finished with a 39.425.
Freshman
Jordan Napolitano made her first all-around appearance Friday night finishing seventh with a 37.450.
The Gymhawks turned around on Sunday and placed third at Sunday's Denver Tri-Meet with a final score of 194.675 competing with two members of the Big 12 conference, Iowa State and Denver. The Cyclones posted a score of 195.800 for second place, while Denver won the meet with a final score of 197.775.
Senior
Lydia Webb competed in the all-around category for the Redhawks and took third overall with a 39.250.
Taylor Ingle also competed in the all-around for SEMO, posting a 38.875 for fifth place on Sunday afternoon.
Madison Greene tied for third overall on the Floor for the Redhawks. The Crestwood, Ky.-native turned in a 9.850 with Denver's Madison Ulrich and Rylie Mundell, and Iowa States Noelle Adams and Emilie Hong.
Scouting The Opponent
Illinois State
The Redbirds come into Houck Field House with a 6-3 (2-1 MIC) record. Most Recently ISU fell 195.250 - 196.075 to Lindenwood.
The Redbirds posted a 49.425 on the floor for their highest rotation of the night.
For the third meet in a row, senior Angelica Labat took home the all-around title with a final score of 39.250. The reigning gymnasts of the year has won two MIC Gymnasts of the week honors this season.
Senior Kaitlyn Donovan recorded the highest score of the meet with a 9.9.25 on the floor to win the event. Alana Laster and Jaye Mack placed second with matching scores of 9.900 on the floor.
Ally Lau and Labat tied for the event win on beam, with matching scores of 9.825.
Labat is the the top ranked gymnast for Illinois State, ranking 70th in the nation with an average score of 39.104.
ISU ranks 38th in the nation, recording an average score of 195.546, with a high score of 195.950.
Fisk
The Bulldogs scored 192.300 in a loss to West Virginia (194.700), Bowling Green (194.850), and Eastern Michigan (196.100).
Morgan Price took second in the all-around with a score of 39.275. Price scored a meet high 9.950 on the beam to finish first.
Ciniah Rosby and Price also notched scores of 9.800 on the vault to tie for fourth.
Price ranks 71st in the nation with an average score of 39.100 with a high score of 39.400.
Fisk averages 191.894 ranking 65th in the nation with a high score of 193.400. With high scores of 48.425 (Vault), 48.8500 (Bars), 48.975 (Beam), and 48.45 on the floor.
Looking Ahead
The Gymhawks will take a week off following Friday night's meet and will be back in action on Sunday, March 3, when they travle to Lincoln, Neb. for the Nebraska Quad Meet. Competition is slated to begin at 1 p.m., CT. and will feature Illinois State, ACC-member North Carolina, and the host-Nebraska.
